Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 19, 2020March 20, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MY CARBON COPY (1) won three on end in February before performing well from bad barriers at his last three starts. He is drawn perfectly tonight and should bounce back into the winners’ circle. BACK IN TWENTY (11) wasn’t far away when 4th here last week and should enjoy a nice from his trailing draw. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (10) has been unplaced at his past nine starts but can be in the money from this draw. BETTOR BE OSCAR (7) has won his last four starts and would give them something to catch if he can cross at the start. Tips: 1 11 10 7 Suggested Bet: MY CARBON COPY (1) to win. Race 2 THREE BEARS (1) hasn’t won for almost 10 months but is a different horse in front and gets his chance to lead tonight. His recent form is sound and he should be a big improver from the pole. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (6) would win this on his form last time in but normally takes a few runs to reach his peak. NAVAL AVIATOR (7) will be suited by a likely solid tempo and will be running on strongly. MISTER BUSHIDO (9) is right up to this class but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 6 7 9 Suggested Bet: THREE BEARS (1) to win. Race 3 ROCK ME OVER (1) has been placed at three of his past five starts in stronger company than he meets tonight. He looks the leader here and will be very hard to catch. ICEENOTHINK (10) is racing extremely well and looks the obvious danger if he sees daylight early enough. JACK WILLIAM (2) has been placed in 16 of his last 19 starts and won’t be far away from this draw. ATHABASCAN (3) should lob handy from this draw and can play a part. Tips: 1 10 2 3 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (1) to win. Race 4 SHOCKWAVE (4) resumed from a break with a comfortable all-the-way victory and is clearly the one to beat again. CHIAROSCURO (1) chased the runaway leader when a distant 2md to Talktomeurmattjesty and should be right in the finish from the pole. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. SIMBA BROMAC (5) was a good last-start winner but has an awkward draw to the outside of the favourite. Tips: 4 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: SHOCKWAVE (4) to win. Race 5 MAJOR MARTINI (2) faced the breeze and was a dominant winner here at his last start. He is the best drawn of the main chances and appeals as the one to beat. FRANCO ECUADOR (12) has impressed in winning three of his four career starts but faces his biggest test to date. HOWARD HUGHES (9) has won all five starts in WA and looks a serious player but has a horror draw to overcome. GARDYS LEGACY (1) might be a notch below the top 3YO’s but should be thereabouts from the pole. Tips: 2 12 9 1 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MARTINI (2) to win. Race 6 THE BIRD DANCE (4) has won eight on end and has the advantage of drawing inside his main rivals for his resumption. He meets a handy field but has a good record at the distance and can continue the winning streak. SIR GALAHAD (6) has won five of his last six and appeals as the main danger but looks likely to have to do his share of work in the run. BRAEVIEW BONDI (8) and TOUCH OF SUCCESS (9) are both very capable but have difficult draws to overcome. Tips: 4 6 8 9 Suggested Bet: THE BIRD DANCE (4) to win. Race 7 CARUBA (1) is drawn to lead and should take some running down. She won in much easier company at Collie before producing a sound effort in a stronger field here last week. COUNTESS GRACE (10) is racing much better than her numerical form suggests and is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs. FULFIL THE DREAM (6) is capable but has tended to mix form this preparation. MY PRAYER (7) ran on strongly to defeat American Delight but has a wide draw to overcome. Tips: 1 10 6 7 Suggested Bet: COUNTESS GRACE (10) each way. Race 8 ALWAYS AN HONOUR (3) returns to mobile racing and has won five from ten in this distance range. He is drawn to settle close to the leaders and can play a part in a very open race. CAPTAIN KIRK (6) is racing very well but has to overcome an awkward. MIRACLE MOOSE (4) was sound when 3rd here last week and is a strong chance with the right run. VERSTAPPEN (5) is a promising type rising considerably in class but must also be considered. Tips: 3 6 5 4 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS AN HONOUR (3) each way. Race 9 BLACK JACK BABY (5) has not put a foot wrong in her career to date and appears to hold all the aces again. RUMOUR HAS IT (6) was an impressive winner at her third race start but has an awkward draw to overcome. ALWAYS AN ANGEL (1) has trialled nicely for her debut and should be prominent from the draw. LETSDANCETONIGHT (2) was soundly beaten by RUMOUR HAS IT (6) and looks outclassed but has the draw to be a place chance. Tips: 5 6 1 3 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK BABY (5) to win. Race 10 MIGHTY RONALDO (3) worked hard at his second race start for a very strong 2nd to THE GOOD LIFE and can go one better here. SOHO GIGILO (1) was well beaten by BLACK JACK BABY on debut but this looks slightly easier and has a perfect draw. OUR SHELLEY BEACH (5) was sound on debut and looks to be an improving type. LETS ROCK TONIGHT (4) does not have the form to be a serious winning chance but can be placed. Tips: 3 1 5 4 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (3) to win. Market Market
