Trent Cooper’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 11, 2025December 11, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MIKIS PRIDE (4) hasn’t had much luck recently but he looks suited in this event. He has opened too short in early markets for my liking but should drift and give a good sight. SWEET IVY (1) was crossed from this barrier recently but is racing well and looks a good each way chance. CAPTAIN CONFETTI (3) surprised with his gate speed when leading throughout in 1.56.9 three starts back (also won last start) and will be hard to catch if he can reproduce that effort. ROCKANDROLLARTIST (9) is the quickest beginner in the field and he will become the one to beat if he can cross at the start. Tips: 4 1 3 9 Suggested Bet: MIKIS PRIDE (4) to win. Race 2 BETTORS PRIDE (7) has used his gate speed to cross and lead at his last two starts when a close-up 4th in the Golden Nugget and a 5 metre third to Golden Lode. This is a drop in class and he will be hard to catch if he crosses at the start. PETES HONOUR (5) was a bit disappointing last start but must be considered a good winning chance on his previous efforts. SWEET COCO (6) clearly has plenty of ability and won’t surprise if she wins but she opened up under the odds at $2.60. TIGER ROYAL (9) has only been placed in one of his ten starts this time in but finished less than 10m from the winner (Minstrel) in the JP Stratton Cup and is worth a speck at double figure odds. Tips: 7 5 6 9 Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (7) to win. Race 3 HES NEVER BEEN BETA (2) was a big drifter here last week and the concerns around him holding up from the pole proved warranted. He went to the line full of running and this draw is perfect for him. SWEET LUCIFER (6) has been racing well against stronger fields and will be suited by the likelihood of a solid tempo. DAWSON (8) was held up here last week and looks a major player despite the wide draw. INSTA GATOR (9) is a classy customer who can do work in his races but he may have trouble getting into the race if the favourite is holding the breeze. Tips: 2 6 8 9 Suggested Bet: HES NEVER BEEN BETA (2) to win. Race 4 Stay with me here. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (3) has a losing sequence of 37 but also hasn’t led for 37 and he went 1.54.3 in that win. I’m thinking Hoppys Way may sit first-up and if that happens, the $51 about our selection will be way overs. STAR CASINO (5) is a tough customer who can breeze and fight out the finish. SKYLOU (11) has resumed with a win and a 2nd off back marks in stands and should make his presence felt again. I’m not convinced ROLLING FIRE (12) is at his best but he could blow them away for speed if he can bounce back. Tips: 3 5 11 12 Suggested Bet: IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (3) each way. Race 5 If you watch the replay of the JP Stratton Cup then MINSTREL (2) should be $1.40 and winning this because his rivals had their chance to beat him. I am tipping him on top and he is clearly the one to beat but I’ll also make a strong case for MAGNIFICENT STORM (8). He looked a lot sharper when beating a weaker field here last week and will be fitter than when they last met. He crossed MINSTREL (2) from similar draws and if he can do that again then he will be hard to beat. It looks hard for MISTER SMARTEE (12) but he is still the third pick and comes right into calculations if they go hard and the last quarter isn’t quick. NEVER ENDING (5) hasn’t won a race for nearly 18 months but his last effort looked the old NEVER ENDING (5) and he can surprise. BETTER ECLIPSE (1), MIGHTY RONALDO (11) and GOLDEN LODE (12) are all place chance from their soft draws. Tips: 2 8 12 5 Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (2) to win. Race 6 AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (5) is versatile and is the proven mare in this company and she can either settle just off them or go to the breeze and prove hard to beat under either scenario. MADAM PUBLISHER (2) didn’t have any luck in the last lap but was still below her best last week but has the barrier advantage tonight and can bounce back. HEAVENLY GIPSY (3) hasn’t performed as well when driven conservatively recently so it could be a case of handlebars down. NUTBUSH GIRL (4) found her city limits (I’ll show myself out) last week when she couldn’t find the front and I’ll be against her until we see her produce something when she doesn’t lead. Tips: 5 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (5) to win. Race 7 CHASING REX (6) has faced the breeze and finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts. He may enjoy a nicer run in transit here but is still capable of going forward if needed and fighting out the finish. CONTROL THE ROOM (3) was slightly disappointing in consecutive starts but impressed after a three-week absence when finishing in 1.53.7 here last week. He could work his way to the front and would give a great sight in that role. HENTY (4) is only lightly raced but has won three of his five race starts and is ready for the rise in class. ARMA BELIEVER (8) is racing extremely well and may have the speed to cross if he is let loose off the arm. Tips: 6 3 4 8 Suggested Bet: CHASING REX (6) to win. Race 8 SKIP A BEAT (6) has won four of his six race starts and looks set to win many more. The only concern is that he has won all four starts when leading and has been beaten when he hasn’t found the front and the lead isn’t guaranteed here. JIMMY ROCKS (8) is a nice type first-up from a spell and looks an obvious danger if he is ready to go. JOLTED CHARM (2) couldn’t handle the hot early tempo last week but should be thereabouts on her previous form. ERA (10) is flying but has an awkward draw to overcome. Tips: 6 8 2 10 Suggested Bet: SKIP A BEAT (6) to win. Race 9 HI SUGA RUSH (1) hasn’t shown anything like his best at his last two campaigns but he trialled nicely behind Captain Ravishing recently and he will be hard to beat if he can hold up at the start. THELITTLE MASTER (9) is reliant on a solid tempo and his winning chances will depend on a quick lead time. MY WATCHLIST (8) has plenty of ability but he disappointed last time in and hasn’t been seen in trials so monitor the betting. TANTABIDDI (4) has the speed to cross if desired but he has been racing better when not used early so I’m expecting that to be the case but monitor the pre-race interviews. Tips: 1 9 8 4 Suggested Bet: HI SUGA RUSH (1) to win. Race 10 Tough race to finish. STORMYSKYES (9) has been racing in stronger company and has the strength to overcome the wide draw so happy to be with her on an each-way basis. KURIOUS BOY (7) was a solid first-up 4th and has the gate speed to put himself in a prominent position. DOURADO (8) has talent but his three runs back from a spell haven’t been convincing and he looks short enough in the market. LADY VIOLETTA (1) has drawn the pole for the fifth consecutive time and looks better suited in this class. Tips: 9 7 8 1 Suggested Bet: STORMYSKYES (9) each way. Early Quaddie 1 3 4 9 5 6 7 9 2 3 6 8 9 3 5 6 9 11 12 Late Quaddie 2 8 2 3 5 3 4 6 8 6 8 Market Market
