Argentina v Croatia

Lionel Messi continues to shine for Argentina who are without full backs Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuna due to suspension. Nahuel Molina and Nicolas Tagliafico will start. Coach Lionel Scaloni went with a back 5 against The Netherlands so it will be interesting to see if alters his approach against Croatia.

For their part, Croatia are coming off back-to-back extra times games so heavy legs will be a concern, even if team spirit isn’t. They have a clean bill of health, and no suspensions so will likely go with an unchanged side that includes Mario Pasalic who impressed against Brazil.

France v Morocco

France have no fresh injuries or suspensions to worry about so Didier Deschamps can once again call upon his settled line up. Olivier Giroud is the focal point of the attack, but it is Antoine Griezmann who has impressed the most in a deeper role than usual. His eye for a pass will be key to breaking down the resolute Moroccan defence.

Morocco’s walking wounded will look to cause another shock having conceded just one goal in the tournament so far. Nayef Aguerd and Noussair Mazraoui missed the win over Portugal through, while Romain Saiss was stretchered off, and all three are touch and go for the semi-final. Walid Cheddira is suspended.
