The Scout: NBA Best Bets Posted on August 21, 2020 | Posted by The Scout Denver Nuggets vs Utah Jazz The Jazz have tied the series behind Donovan Mitchell’s 87 points in two games, and an overall offense that is firing on all cylinders. Jordan Clarkson has stepped up, being the offensive spark plug the Jazz need hime to be, while Gobert patrolling the paint is forcing Jokic to operate for more often from the perimeter. Denver have shown they have no answer for Mitchell and I think that will ultimately cost them again in Game 3. Suggested Bet: Utah WIN @ $2.03* Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics Boston are steamrolling their way through the 76ers who are offering very little resistance. The brilliance of coach Brad Stevens has been on full display and Philly look to be accepting of their fate. The Celtics two young stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are playing like fully fledged studs, combing for 116 points across the opening two games. Ben Simmons would usually take the Tatum matchup making his absence even greater. Philly are missing Simmons on the offensive end as well. He is their key facilitator and creates open shots for his teammates. Without him, the 76ers have been shooting poorly from beyond the three-point line, and haven’t been able to keep up with Boston. This series could well be a sweep. Boston have controlled the opening two games from the tip, winning by an average margin of 17 points. I’m expecting much the same again here. Suggested Bet: Boston 11+ @ $2.90* LA Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks The Mavericks tying the series may well be the wake up call the Clippers needed. Without taking anything away from Dallas (who were great Game 2), the Clippers were not themselves in that game. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are two of the best lock-down perimeter defenders in the NBA and could be the perfect duo to slow Luka Doncic. Offensively, Paul George had one of his worst games of the season in Game 2. He is usually a sharpshooter from long range, but was ice cold going 2 of 10 from deep. The Clippers have been waiting all season to put their foot on the gas. Tied 1-1 in the first round of the playoffs, I think we get a taste of that here. Suggested Bet: Los Angeles 11+ @ $2.95* *Odds correct as at 2pm, 21st August 2020. Market Market
