The Scout: EPL Week 20 Posted on December 29, 2021December 29, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Chelsea vs Brighton Chelsea is undefeated in four matches and sit third in the Premier League but are tied on points with second place Liverpool. Brighton have settled midtable and are 11th after picking up a comfortable 2-0 win over Brentford last matchday. The Blues have been playing well and have only lost once in 13 Premier League fixtures, a 3-2 defeat by the hands of London rivals West Ham. Defensively during this run Chelsea have kept five clean sheets and are back to their best under Thomas Tuchel’s guidance. Brighton managed to finally get back to winning last matchday however they have not won an away game since September and have never beaten Chelsea in the Premier League. The Seagulls have struggled the most with goal scoring with no consistency upfront having only scored a poor 16 goals for the entire season. It’s a foregone conclusion that Chelsea will be far too strong for Brighton who simply do not possess the firepower or creativity to worry them. With Liverpool dropping points to Leicester in their last outing, this fixture is a huge opportunity for Chelsea to take over second position in the Premier League. The Blues will dominate from the whistle, restricting Brighton and forcing them to defend for most of the match. Suggested Bet: Chelsea Win To Nil @ $2.20* Brentford vs Manchester City Manchester City (1st) beat Leicester 6-3 in a Boxing Day thriller and will be looking to continue their dominance against a Brentford (14th) who have become victims to injury with a long list of players out. Brentford will be without Bryan Mbeumo, Kristoffer Ajer, Mathias Jorgensen, Rico Henry, Charlie Goode, Josh Dasilva and David Raya. This does not bode well for the hosts as they come up against arguably the best team in Europe right now in Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s men are in incredibly form particularly in front of goal as they have scored an impressive 17 goals in their last three matches. City have been ruthless and are in all out attack mode from the minute their matches start with almost every player in the starting XI finding some action. One such player who has made a big impact for Manchester City is notorious winger Riyad Mahrez who has started to feature in the starting lineup. Mahrez has started in City’s last three Premier League fixtures and has scored a goal in each of them. With Brentford’s roster decimated with injury, we can expect another high scoring match that will feature plenty of opportunities for Mahrez to continue his goal scoring spree. Suggested Bet: Riyad Mahrez To Score A Goal @ $2.20* Manchester United vs Burnley Manchester United (7th) have started to turn things around and are undefeated in five straight fixtures while Burnley (18th) will be desperate for points as they currently are a massive threat to be relegated next season. Despite the Red Devil’s undefeated streak, their 1-1 draw against Newcastle last matchday was incredibly disappointing as they should have done a lot better against a side that has been towards the bottom of the table all season. United are slowly losing touch with the top four and need to start winning, a match against Burnley could be the turning point that they need. Under manager Ralf Rangnick, United have improved immensely on the defensive end but it is in attack that they need significant improvement having only scored three goals in three matches. During their last three matches Manchester United have kept two clean sheets and with David De Gea anchoring the defense they have looked incredibly strong. Oppositely, Burnley have gone three straight matches without scoring a goal and have struggled all season in this department. I do not see Burnley troubling Manchester United defensively at Old Trafford. Suggested Bet: Manchester United To Win To Nil @ $2.25* Market Market
