Sully’s NRL Round One Preview Posted on March 2, 2017March 3, 2017 | Posted by James Sullivan Well Rugby League is back with the return of the Telstra Premiership season. It’s a tough first round for the punters with 9’s and trial form making way for premiership points. Combine this with Sydney’s wet weather over this weekend and almost anything could happen. After breaking their 50 year Premiership hoodoo the Sharks take on the Broncos at home on Thursday night. Cronulla will be minus the retired Mick Ennis & talented Ben Barba while the Broncos will have no Corey Parker for the 1st time since 2001. Fridays 1st Game sees the Bulldogs taking on the Storm at their spiritual Home at Belmore Oval and the Storm will not be rushing back star Billy Slater for this one. Then the Rabbitohs take on their nemesis of recent years in the West Tigers where all eyes will be on Rabbitohs new signing Robbie Farah taking on his old club of 247 Games. Premiership favourites the Panthers should account for the Dragons in Game 1 on Super Saturday, the Cowboys take on the Raiders at home & the Titans host the Roosters with both teams looking to feature in September. On Sunday the Warriors should account for the Knights across the ditch and traditional rivals the Sea Eagles & Eels clash at “Lottoland” to finish Round 1.
