Scott Embry’s Wednesday Bunbury Preview Posted on April 6, 2021April 6, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PANZDOWN will be a polarising horse in the opener. There will likely be a 50-50 split between those looking at him as a potential bet and those looking at him as a potential lay. Will all come down to price because you can understand both sides of the argument. Ran third in a 3yo 0MWLY behind Em Tee Aye and Empire Reign before running second at Northam in a C1 (third horse Kallaroo), and then was beaten less than a length in a Fairetha Stakes behind Kallaroo, Western Empire and First Law, beating home Dom to Shoot. Recent trial sound without shades and excellent use of the 3kg claim for Holly Watson. RAIN GOD won well on debut when hard in the market. Huge query on the quality of the form in what was a Pinjarra 1000m track gallop time wise. YOUDOYOU box seats with the cutaway. ZAC LUVS TO FLY next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PANZDOWN WIN RACE 2 THE VERDICT and LUCIE MANETTE both come from the same race behind Kazoku. THE VERDICT beat Lucie home by almost 3L and gets a 2kg weight swing in her favour, so we’ll side her way in a thin 1705m maiden. LUCIE MANETTE gets the services of William Pike and prior to last start had been knocking on the door with consistent runs. TIBETAN BLACK up sharply in trip looks to be exactly what the doctor ordered. JOLLY ODD is a 28 start maiden but should roll to the top and is rock hard fit. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE VERDICT WIN RACE 3 SCORPION STORMZ gets a senior rider for the first time this preparation, blinkers on first time and the use of the cutaway from the inside gate. Always seems to draw awkwardly, settle back and rattle home. This is his opportunity to sit close handy and shoot up the inside in a small field against moderate quality on exposed form. VANMAN certainly hasn’t set tongues wagging at trials. Bred in the purple and looks like he’ll need every inch of 1400m. FAMOUS JURNEY has been well supported at both runs this preparation. Hit a real flat spot last start when the sprint went on. Extra trip should be in his favour. COTCHIN was beaten a long way last start but kept chasing. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – SCORPION STORMZ WIN RACE 4 ENTICING trialled up well under junior apprentice Rosie Mahony when splitting Critical Altitude and Chix Flix. Both of those gallopers ran ripping races first-up in their preparations and Enticing gets both blinkers and Jason Brown for his return to racing. Nice even maiden this and he looks one of many live chances. Parnham Pair WUNDERKIND and FIRST MOMENT are both capable of settling over the top of the speed and with the right runs can figure in the finish. CONTESSA MEDICI ran well down the ‘wrong’ part of the Pinjarra straight at her return. Will get a sighter into the form in R1 with Rain God. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – ENTICING WIN RACE 5 TREVELLO looked a completely different horse with the blinkers and Pike on. Has clearly had some issues as a lightly raced 6 year old and this is good an opportunity as he will get to break through in WA. Drawn to sit in the box seat with a cutaway in play, he’ll get every mortal hope. NOBLE REFLECTION returned to racing well behind Kaptain Kaos and Holy Ghost. That’s as strong, if not stronger, C3 form and with the claim gets in well at the weights. WESTERNIZE can cross to the top and gave some real cheek at 1400m last week. STARAUTHORESS will be doing his best late and can get it soft three back the fence. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – TREVELLO WIN RACE 6 LYLE’S CHOICE looks well placed to score. Resumed in a C5 when running second to two-time subsequent Saturday winner Miss Marietta and then finished midfield in a hot 0MWLY 1800 containing Oaks place getter Temptaction and Albany Cup winner Marocchino. Drops back into a C3, loves the Bunbury 1700, loves racing off 3 weeks and seems to peak third up in the prep. Lots of boxes ticked. CHIEF ARCHER has blinkers re-attached and may find himself in front in a race without any speed. THE THUNDERESS won well last start in C1 company. TREAT YO SELF can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – LYLE’S CHOICE EACHWAY RACE 7 TRADEM’IN was plunged on debut when getting the job done at a healthy eachway quote off the back of a few quiet trials. Thrown in the deep end at his second career outing when finishing a respectable fourth behind Ghobella, Son Son and No Surrender. Looks a progressive type. KAZOKU has done nothing wrong in her short career and let down like a filly who will be winning plenty more. BAYBIZARRE made a mess of moderate maiden opposition last start. MIMS WIN a mad one for novelty players. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – TRADEM’IN WIN Quaddie (R4 – R7) 2,5,6,7,101,2,3,51,2,41,2,3,5,6,8,11 Market Market
