Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 13, 2022September 13, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LENIENCY sat outside of Aiyza last start and put her away at the top of the home straight to record an emphatic maiden win at this track, in this grade. Rises to 60kg but did carry 59kg on debut on a Heavy10 when nabbed on the post after hitting the front on straightening. Looks progressive and this is another very winnable race for him. HEAR MY PRAYER looks the logical danger on paper. In the event that Compak kicks through to lead then he might end up one out, one back following the every move of Leniency. Comes from a strong Saturday race behind Baby Paris and Azena. BIRD’S THE WORD backs up from a soft win at York on Sunday. YARRALEA trialled nice and quietly. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – LENIENCY WIN RACE 2 YES OF COURSE looks to have found a nice race first-up. Ran well on debut behind Sky Duke in a 2 year old maiden when hitting the line from a long way back. Recent trial at Lark Hill was strong and from the barrier Pat Carbery should have him poised ready to strike behind the leaders (Storm Lord & Late Vintage) and with the 3 year old allowance he gets in with an attractive 55.5kg. STORM LORD likely looks to kick through and lead and the last start effort wasn’t too bad in a race that was ultimately dominated down the centre of the track. BUDGERIGAR met with late support on debut and ran well. GRATIAS DEO has ability but stil does plenty wrong and may be looking for further. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – YES OF COURSE WIN RACE 3 COSTUME PARTY split Revitup and Saintorio in a 2 year old SWP 1000, finished second to Sheeza Belter (went around $1.85), finished third in the Supremacy Stakes and second in the Gimcrack behind boom filly Amelia’s Jewel and then contested the Karrakatta Plate. Sits back, lets the speed battle unfold and is saved up for one last run at them. Nice set up for her fresh. MEGA REWARD is drawn really sticky but Paul Harvey is riding in brilliant form and the horse has come back well. STARS APLENTY won well fresh and gets a soft run. TALES OF MANHATTAN won two from two last campaign and scratched from Saturday to save for this. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – COSTUME PARTY WIN RACE 4 KIA ORA JEWEL went under last start at the hands of Surveillance but her run wasn’t too bad. In review Surveillance simply ran them into the ground (2.5L faster than average) and they couldn’t make any inroads. Step up in trip suits and Brandon Louis’ claim helps. RUBY NOIR was narrowly defeated 7 days ago up the cutaway when looming large at the 200. Backs up, steps out to 2000m, retains the services of Paul Harvey and maps to get a near identical run in transit. Hard to beat. JAFETICA can position up in behind the leaders and get a soft run. MISS RONA may have to sit outside of Nobel Knight and rises to 59kg. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – KIA ORA JEWEL WIN RACE 5 SESSIONS PEAK should position up behind speed duo Surveillance and Heaps Of Moolah and enjoy the run of the race. Won well from a similar position in running three starts ago and since then has been competitive in a 0MWLY and then couldn’t go with Noble Born (since second to Benji’s). Can bounce back. MYSTERY ISLAND looked one paced in his trial on first viewing (which he probably is), however, when you consider that he was also matching motors with Comes Right Back and Off Wego in that trial was good enough. Can go well at his WA debut. DANCING JACK will be suited if the speed gets turned on. SURVEILLANCE dominated them at Northam. Need to see him do it again. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – SESSIONS PEAK EACHWAY RACE 6 LORD GANNICUS looks to have more upside than his rivals here. Gets in with 57.5kg after the 3 year old allowance taking on the older horses and looks like the kind of horse who will do his best work when able to wind up into the race. Think it’ll turn into a moderately run affair with a three deep line building and his trial was solid. Ticks plenty of boxes. THE INVISIBLE MAN can be forgiven for his two runs down the straight at Pinjarra when last in work. HE’SGOTWINGS comes out of one of the strongest C1 races of the season. WINNING ACES was huge last start and will likely end up in a similar spot in running to Lord Gannicus. Big ask to concede him a head start and weight and beat him. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – LORD GANNICUS WIN RACE 7 BUTTERFLY HOUSE is really well placed by Dean White. Finished third behind Ponyo and subsequent winner Defending first-up at 1000 in a C3 at Northam and then backed it up with a close third behind Mega Reward and Pepper Assault (beating home Forest War) in another C3. Drops into a C1 F&M and gets in well after the claim of Holly Watson. Goes round double figures but is racing well enough to win. CHERRY CAN RUN was carried outwards at the 1000 last start and never really got into the race thereafter. Proven on rain affected tracks and previous run splitting Vogue’s Choice and Oceanic rider reads up well. DOMINEER is going well and gains a senior rider. SOFIA’S SYMPHONY got into plenty of trouble last start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 13 – 11 Suggested Bet – PLAYING UP WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4 1,2,4,5,6,7,8 3,7,11 1,2,3,5,6,9,11,13 Market Market
