Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 15, 2020September 15, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FIRST MOMENT has been ultra-consistent since making her debut back in July. Two starts ago split subsequent Saturday winner Chili is Hot and maiden winner Tabella and last time out had absolutely no luck at all in running. Drops to 53.5kg in an all age maiden and should take up a prominent position in running. Goes around at an eachway quote and should be given every chance in running. NOTORIOUS ONE finally makes it to the races after a number of preparations and makes his debut as a 5-year-old. Always looked to have a powerful motor but he is green as grass. This is a great opportunity for him to open his account with a victory and from the draw he shouldn’t concede them too much of a head start. Takes holding out. HOLY ENACTMENT ran well in his first preparation and was a quiet trial. PERFECT HARMONY should get across from the gate. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – FIRST MOMENT EACHWAY RACE 2 OUTBACK JACK really let down powerfully when easing out around heels at Lark Hill and with even luck from a sticky draw should be hard to beat on debut. Looks versatile and with the cutaway if he does go back from the draw should get a clean run at them in the home straight. All three trials have been impressive. FIERY BAY backs up off 6 days from a fast run 1400m maiden behind Chiclett. Holds a spot in running and is going well. SOUTHSTAR put the writing on the wall first-up and Warrcarrcombo bolting in Sunday makes the form look good. MIYAGI should enjoy all the favours with the cutaway in play. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – OUTBACK JACK WIN RACE 3 LORDING raced exclusively in better company when last in work. Broke his maiden first-up when well supported and then ran back to back second placings to River Beau in midweek and Saturday company. Last two runs of the preparation were against quality three-year olds including Resortman, Captain Kink, Platinum Bullet and We’ve Got Dreams. This is a big class drop and he can box seat with the cutaway in play. EXPRESS TIME trialled the house down when winning by 7.5L before her last campaign. Only had two outings and wasn’t disgraced at either. Recent trial solid behind talented stablemate Brooklyn Pier. Clear top two. SMART PRICESS chased hard first-up. VIN ROUGE is honest. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – LORDING WIN RACE 4 TRIPLE MISSILE has really impressed at the trials. Most recent trial was sharp when matching motors with Captain Burglar (who won well last Wednesday) and ran through the line strongly. A bit like Outback Jack earlier on the card is an awkward draw for Shaun McGruddy to overcome but look to have a stack of natural talent. NO SURRENDER was thrown in the deep end on debut in the Perth Stakes behind Gemma’s Son, Charleton Eddie and Brooklyn Pier. Only had 400m jump outs but both were excellent. CELEBRITY WITNESS was eye catching on debut and would have gone into a lot of blackbooks. YOUDOYOU is drawn sticky but wasn’t a bad trial behind Triple Missile. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – TRIPLE MISSILE WIN RACE 5 ZIP YOUR LIPS was a strong winner in a C3 over 1600m at Pinjarra two starts back before racing outside the handicap in a 66+ when tackling a staying trip for the first time. Ran last and was beaten 10L but now drops back in distance and back in grade. This looks a great opportunity to bounce back and in an evenly graded affair looks as good a chance as any. THE CAT RATCHER was eye catching first-up and gets in well at the weights after the claim. CONVICTED MAN is racing particularly well and looks like he will eat up the ground. RACY AVA was impressive late last start and draws the cutaway. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – ZIP YOUR LIPS EACHWAY RACE 6 CHOICE COMMAND dropped two ratings points last time out which was enough to allow trainer Neville Parker to throw the senior rider on. Ran himself into the ground at his most recent when charging through the middle stages. Comes back to 1200m, gear change and falls into a very moderate C1. Gets his chance to break back into the winner’s enclosure. CASINO WAR has been a model of consistency her entire career. Resumed first-up no trial at 1000m and ran extremely well. She’s better suited at 1200m and can lead them up from the inside. SMILE FOR ME has put together two great runs and from the draw should settle in a brilliant position. SHE’S GOT MERIT beat Tommy Blue first-up last preparation but needs luck from the draw. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHOICE COMMAND EACHWAY RACE 7 BOBCAT JOHNNIE looks to have found his most suitable race of the preparation. Fingers crossed he leaves cleanly because if he does then he can roll to the top here. Has been building into the preparation and the most recent effort behind Tycoon Storm reads well. Annie King’s yard is on fire and with Alan Kennedy back aboard he gets his chance. ANNHILIATOR was an emphatic winner four starts ago when on the 7 day back-up. Maps to get every hope from the draw. STEVIE’S WONDER has run three solid races this preparation and has to be getting close to a win. CENSURE was a little stiff first-up at Kalgoorlie. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – BOBCAT JOHNNIE EACHWAY RACE 8 BOLLINGER BOY really put the writing on the wall second-up when charging through the line. Once he finally saw daylight he was motoring and looks primed to score third up and stepping out to a staying trip for the first time. In form stable, in form hoop and drawn a gate to do no work in the run. They’ll be marching with Saxon Saxoff, Abeldane and Treat Yo Self engaged and Pateman will smoke the pipe midfield with cover. TREAT YO SELF was big last start and the senior rider goes on. ALMASTER steps straight to a staying trip and will be doing his best late. SAXON SAXOFF was a lot better than it reads on paper last time out. Was sharp improvement from the old fella. Numbers: 2 – 13 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – BOLLINGER BOY WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,5 1,4,6 1,3,4 1,2,9,10,13 Market Market
