Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on March 3, 2026March 3, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DO I FEEL LUCKY is a 3 year old Magic Millions winner resuming in a 0MWLY. It’s great placement from Team Casey and a great use of the increasingly popular 3kg claim for Natika Riordan. First-up last campaign he went around in a 72+ 1000 and finished third behind Kay Tee Why and Silver Eye. There’s nothing of that level in this and he should safely work his way to the breeze. From there his class takes him a long way. NEW TARGET was a different horse after a spell. She met with support at odds in betting and let rip with a sharp turn of foot. SEASTIC led and won at Pinjarra and that was off the back of a near 6.5L Lark Hill back straight trial win. Gives plenty of cheek. ARTIES ECLIPSE showed a bit on debut down the straight, not much since. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – DO I FEEL LUCKY WIN Race 2 SEARCHIN’ TIMES and SO SI GOD went head to head last start at Belmont over 1300m and there was a 2L margin between them. The differences here: 1.5kg in favour of So Si God but also she swings into barrier 1 and can settle at least a pair (or two) closer in the run. That brings them really close together and gives her a big sniff of turning the tables. SEARCHIN’ TIMES has won two from two for Summer Dickson and they’ve been mighty impressive. No surprise to see her go three from three as she heads towards Saturday racing. THE NUN comes out of a solid run in the 3 year old Magic Millions and yet will almost certainly go around on the third line of betting. She’s another who will end up as a Saturday horse. HOPE TO RULE can again give plenty of cheek from out in front. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – SO SI GOD WIN RACE 3 GOLDEN CHATTER was thrown in the deep end on debut into a Perth Stakes when beaten 6L by Castle Road and subsequent Karrakatta placegetter and WA Sires winner Just Too Fly. Liked the recent trial and gets the right run from the draw at an eachway price in a race without any standouts. ADMIRE TIFF makes her debut off a winning trial at Lark Hill and worth noting that she trialled without shades and now has them on. She’ll need to step cleanly and come out running to offset the wide draw but if she gets across without burning too much fuel she looks more than capable of giving this a shake. DANCEWITHME always trialled well for the previous yard. ACTION NOT TALK trialled well but then flopped badly on debut. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN CHATTER EACHWAY RACE 4 TYCOON DREAMER has to take the step from a maiden into a C1 but there was plenty to like about the way that she put a gap on her rivals on straightening. Think she’ll look for the top again and if you used a crystal ball to fast forward 24 hours to Pinjarra, expect the form is nearly franked by Desert Ora. MISS VALMALENCO likely eyes off the breeze and if she lands in that spot then should be going well. She was gobbled up by an above average filly last time out in Excess Baggage. DON’T WINK broke her maiden beating subsequent winners Bannered and Western Ace before a freshen. Chased hard through traffic behind Girls Day Out and then went around a $14 chance in the 3 year old Magic Millions. This is a really nice race for her, except the map. Looks very tricky for Taj Dyson and a big chance of being caught deep or dragging right back to last? LEAVING LAS VEGAS improves second-up. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – TYCOON DREAMER EACHWAY RACE 5 SENTIMENTAL LEGEND could only close the gap to 1.4L behind Hope To Rule and Jazalot (since second to Safedeel) and now rises second-up to 1650m and has a set of winkers applied. He’ll get every chance here from barrier 6 and in a race with less speed, less pressure he should be naturally closer to them in running. Think he’ll bounce back here. TAHNI TALK was $34 into $7 first-up at Pinjarra on Classic Day and let rip with a big turn of foot down the centre of the track to score an impressive win and land those juicy bets. Reproduces and is the danger. MYZOOM only has 52kg on her back so expect that Rocky Cheung is given a licence to put the foot down early in an attempt to cross. TASSORT WE WANT went around nearly 200-1 last start and ran a ripper. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL LEGEND WIN RACE 6 CANNYKEV has been figured out – he’s a short course sprinter. Every time he steps to 1200m he’s vulnerable, but if you judge him alone off his 1000m record then he’s clearly the one to beat. After winning a C1, beating subsequent winner Whos Bent, he went to a 66+ and flashed in the final stride at Haida Gwaii. She very nearly led and won a 72+ 1000 on the weekend and this horse was scratched from a 60+ Graduation to save for this 0MWLY where Pike was available. Hard to beat. LUCKY I AM on the other hand seems one of those speedsters that appreciates a little further than the short course to get her rivals chasing and out of their comfort zone. SOLDIER OF GOD dropped back to 1000m mid-prep and ran really well. SNOW PRINCE is highly consistent but has seemingly found his mark. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – CANNYKEV WIN RACE 7 SWIFT TALKER won impressively on debut on a Heavy track at Northam back in August 2025 and was sent out a $4.20 favourite in a C3 at only his second start when under-performing and immediately heading to the paddock. Hard to ignore his recent trial win which looked sharp and professional and this looks a winnable race at his return. HISTORY WON’T CARE resumed in a C5 and ran credibly in a race dominated from the front by Prawns Eleven. Second-up drops into a C3, gets out to a more forgiving 1400m and draws to get every chance. Big danger. TOO MUCH TALK has weight and a poor gate but doesn’t know how to run a bad race. RAPID ROCK was beaten by the barrier last start, he can bounce back. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SWIFT TALKER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,6,8 2,3 4 3,9 Market Market
