Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on February 24, 2026February 24, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CINQUE STELLE wins. Very uninspiring start to a low key mid-week program where the former $350,000 yearling purchase should simply dominate her rivals and win soft. She looks like a sharp sprinter in the making and expect she’ll go around somewhere near the $1.34/$1.36 marker and justify the quote. KINGS COURT joins Chris & Michael Gangemi and he is a 2 year old Saturday winner with plenty of dash. Interesting to see whether they let him roll at his stable debut or whether they try and re-program him? EARL IT IS is trying hard but doesn’t have the same class as Cinque Stelle. FINADO is still a maiden but he’s a short courser and puts himself in a spot. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – CINQUE STELLE WIN RACE 2 WIN FOR BUSTER should win for William Pike. After arriving to a ~$1.34 pop in the opener punters will be forced to follow up into a ~$1.60 chance. He was enormous in defeat on debut when beaten by subsequent Champion Fillies placed Fine Star in a 3 year old 0MWLY (with 2kg more than he carries here) and then at his second-up run he was rolled at $1.50 but was found to be shin sore. Recent trial very sharp and think he’s above average, whereas his rivals aren’t. CAN’T CATCH THIS tried hard behind Desert Waves, and with that galloper now winning a C3 on Sunday, it’s the right form to give David Harrison the quinella. OSCARS NO GROUCH took a long time to wind up and get the better of his opposition once Cinque Stelle cleared out. 1300m the right move. DIAMOND CHOUX wasn’t fully tested last start. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – WIN FOR BUSTER WIN RACE 3 I’M A SOULMAN ran second to Esta Miranda on debut, second to Spirited Strike at his second start and then was over the hill at his third outing. Trialled well for his return and just needs to overcome a tricky draw to be competitive in a very open and even maiden. Looks a three deep line and that helps big time. BUSTER’S BABE drew 1 and ended up along the fence line on a day at Bunbury when you had to be off fence. Forgive. ROAMING AMERICA has shown above average ability at trials but still looks like he wants to do a bit wrong. NISTIRITH is jump and run, like Slip The Jab and Espresso Time and Finitto Web. Plenty of speed and naturally a query being 38 days between runs and scratched twice in between (11/2 & 18/2). Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – I’M A SOULMAN EACHWAY RACE 4 SAVORSKI was $21 into $7.50 last start as connections and punters had a crack at him in betting and sadly missed by a head. He’s clearly ready to win and he’s well suited to this grade. Got to a m68 and is now back down to a m60 and into another winnable race. BUSTER BIFF has been a different horse wince Holly Nottle jumped aboard. He was too strong on speed over 1677m and then backed it up with an honest effort behind Wayne The Pain in a 46+ 1705 at Bunbury at his next outing. Out to 2100m, rolls to the top, doesn’t absorb any real pressure and that sees him in front for a long way. ETERNAL ROMANCE has put the writing on the wall at her last two. There’s realistically nothing between her and Savorski apart from barrier. ASARKA caught the eye two back at 200-1 and again last start at 70-1. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – SAVORSKI WIN RACE 5 CHEYNE BAY should be right fourth-up at 2100m. Loved the fresh run at 1400 behind Mangifera and The Scholar, thought he was stiff second-up when held up at crucial stages as a momentum horse and then comes into this off the back of a solid third behind Lien Hyphen in a race where they smashed the clock (overall time 13.5L faster than average). Last win was a 54+ 2000 fifth-up so hopefully we’re not pulling the trigger a run too early. POPPY’S ROSES is still a maiden but she looks a stayer in the making. Could bounce across into the Natasha / WA Oaks off the back of this. Has far more upside than her older rivals. ZACKARIAH BEAU won his 8th race as a 12 year old last start. What a marvel. SAFARI BOY has won two of his last three in the country and now they book Pike. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHEYNE BAY WIN RACE 6 DOUBLE THE FUN looks hard to beat in this moderate C1 mile. First-up in a 3 year old 1100 he finished 2.2L off Sound of Speed and subsequent winner Just Walter John, second-up he went to the Challenge Stakes (at SWP) and finished less than 3L off Playin’ It Sweet, Dominatus, Aberdeen Flyer, Linchpin, Naughty Lord, Admire astra and beat home dominant Sunday winner Natures Reckoning. Instead of progressing to the Lex Piper Stakes he drops into a C1 and has a set of winkers added to his gear as well as in form hoop Lucy Fiore. Yes please. FEY KING resumed off an 846 day lay off in a C3 and held his own behind Azena. Sneaks back into a C1 and Pike sticks. SPACE ACADEMY has been really good in two runs for Mack Hall and has blinkers on first time. GINGER AND TONIC rarely runs a bad race. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE THE FUN WIN RACE 7 MIGHTY HOSANNA was a good trial behind Dominatus. She had a junior rider aboard, didn’t have her race day blinkers, settled off speed against her usual racing pattern and made ground against the cold trail under her own steam. On race day: shades on, Holly Nottle on, hopefully crosses and gives cheek at an eachway price. CHAMPAGNE CRUSADER gained a start in the Magic Millions as E1 at 150-1 and rattled home into fourth behind Twisted Steel, Hubbles Dragon and Country God. Super effort. SILENT ALERT burnt punters last prep. Trialled super and then gave zero. She’s better than that and this time around goes straight to the races rather than Lark Hill. HOYA DESTROYER was his own worst enemy in his initial preparations. Hopefully time has been his biggest benefit and he can return a bit more tractable and genuine. Has genuine ability. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – MIGHTY HOSANNA EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,7 1,3,11 1,2,9 2,4,6,7,8,9 Market Market
