Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on February 24, 2026February 24, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Speed just fair. Race winner LEOPARD SHARK is well-placed finding another moderate 2YO event after a soft win at Pakenham last start where she clearly appreciated the bigger track and long straight to build through her gears. The danger may come from HYDROBOMB a Shamus Award colt debuting for Team Hayes, looked to have plenty to offer in a recent Pak jumpout, OPTIMUS can figure if ridden forward early, Williams gave her an education at Balnarring and stays with the filly. TUZEMAK was a good debut at Pak, also among the chances. Selections: 4,2,3,6 Suggested Bet: LEOPARD SHARK win RACE 2 Interesting runner is SHOMA making his Australian debut for Busuttin & Young, Group 1 placed last start in NZ over 2000m, gelded, ridden forward in two jumpouts at Cranbourne winning his latest, Meech engaged first-up at 1300m and a low draw, good winning chance. MELIAN is the horse to beat, he lacks gate speed which brought him undone on debut, bigger track helps. SPARKLING LUCK ran up to his improved jumpouts first-up at Pakenham and now has D Lane aboard in a similar race. POMAH, WENTWORTH FALLS and debutant FATTY FINN all worth respecting. Selections: 6,5,7,9 Suggested Bet: SHOMA win RACE 3 Good race with a few progressive types involved. BEL MEZYAAN was crunched in betting second-up and showed a neat turn of foot to win at Ballarat after debuting behind hype horse Trapper John at Sandown. HOTEI SENSHI was impressive on debut in a weak maiden, he was heavily-backed and ate up the 1400m, he should appreciate the slight rise in trip but a bad draw. SUSE SPRITZ will likely lead, ORGANICS can settle closer and HALLOWED HALLS will be charging late. Selections: 4,6,2,9 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 4 An even speed should see ALL BUSINESS land front pair and give a sight on the back of consistent form, a game effort in town last start at the level, Logan Bates takes the ride and should get every chance. THIS TIME GIRL has good 3YO form from NZ and debuts for Grahame Begg, liked her jumpouts and 1400m suits, if she can use the inner draw to be handy then a chance to sprint best. FLOWERDALE improved at the jumpouts this prep and the market didn’t miss her at Sale with an impressive win, she can go on with it. TERILEE is a classy mare and well up to this grade if she does everything right. Selections: 4,2,7,5 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 5 Even race for the benchmark stayers, big field, speed will play a key part. URBAN OUTLOOK continues to race well winning his past two since the blinkers went back on, bigger field and bigger track are both positives, he’s now giving away weight so a good tempo in the race is imperative to his chances. BLUESTONE was excellent first-up chasing leader and winner Ambassadorial at Caulfield and that should bring him on for this second-up. TRAPALANDA gets an important 2kg claim for the partial class drop, he’s been contesting better races, needs a win. EAGLE ANGEL continues to race well deep into the prep. Selections: 1,3,5,4 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 6 BLUE HAWAIIAN maps to be prominent early in a race with little to no tempo and coming in off a last start win, with the claim she will take catching on-speed. TRAPDOOR is an exciting horse, scratched from a wide draw at Caulfield last Wednesday, found a middle draw and winnable race first-up for Team Hawkes after trials in Sydney. ENAMORADA was heavily backed first-up at Sandown for new stable and disappointing despite not getting all favours in the run. Needs to lift. . OVERACTIVE is a good fresh horse but rarely wins, he maps to get a soft run. Selections: 9,8,7,2 Suggested Bet: BLUE HAWAIIAN RACE 7 Speed should be on early with HEDONIST and TEST OF LOVE up front, the former is well-placed to get back on the winners list after buckling late at Caulfield over 1400m in a strong BM70 last start, Jamie Mott replaces the apprentice and that will be telling over the concluding stages. The money came for TEST OF LOVE at Sale and received a great ride going to the front and won softly, he could have further upside returning from HK. Last start winner WINSOME STAR can handle the class rise with the speed on to suit. UK Import KURAKKA a big watch in betting. Selections: 3,5,6,4 Suggested Bet: Quinella 3 & 5 RACE 8 Tricky finish with a lack of obvious speed engaged. SAVISANTA returned off a Derby campaign to smack a weak field at Sale, he can settle front half so appeals again in this race. FIGLIO D’ARGENTO went to the front with the money on and they sat off him here last start cruising to victory, doubt he’s afforded the same luxury. Impressed with REVOLVER’S win at Geelong, out wide on a day it was difficult to do although pattern was switching late, this is a logical race for him to step up into. SO SUAVE is a big watch for the Waller/Melham combination. Selections: 3,2,6,12 Suggested Bet: Exotics Market Market
