Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on February 17, 2026February 17, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 YOU CAN CALL ME AL gets out to 2100m for the first time in his career which is a natural unknown, but hopefully he has thrown to the Dam’s side because Ningaloo Blitz won 3 at 2000, 3 at 2100, 3 at 2200 and once at 2300m! Certainly gives the indication that the trip won’t worry him as he’s always finishing off well late in his races and with all due respect – his opposition aren’t much good. SAVIENNE could be the outlier as a lightly raced filly stepping out to what should be her preferred distance range on her way to the WA Oaks. She attacked the line hard at 1800m off a freshen. FARADIO is now a month between runs first time at the trip. Query. SAISOKU looked a Derby type on debut. Hasn’t fired since. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – YOU CAN CALL ME AL WIN RACE 2 ACTION NOT TALK has trialled well a few times across multiple preparations and from the barrier should be given every chance to score on debut, especially in a race where it looks like the leaders will attack each other early. Really liked the most recent trial behind Cinque Stelle at Belmont and thought he was the strongest of the debutantes from the trials and deserved to be favourite. Market may not agree given Pike is on one of Simon Miller’s! NISTIRITH was run down over the short course at Mt Barker and was very green. She’ll no doubt burn across to look for the lead. TANGLE FOOT is Miller – Pike – Blinkers but she’s also drawn a bit sticky and her trials haven’t exactly been electric? ADMIRE BELLE is jump and run but still wants to get her head up and could be left a bit vulnerable late. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – ACTION NOT TALK WIN RACE 3 DESERT ORA went around over 100-1 on debut in a maiden that had some depth. The winner goes around in a C1 later in the program (Searchin’ Times), the runner-up went around in the 3 year old Magic Millions (Perfectly Proper), the third horse went around in the 2 year old Magic Millions (Luz Del Sol) and the fifth horse went around a well supported second favourite on Sunday (Call Me Frosty). Great run, without any luck, and if reproducing has to be an eachway chance here. MIDNIGHT DEAL comes through the same trial as Universal Duke and was weaving a passage late under little riding. UNIVERSAL DUKE should bounce out and put himself int a nice spot on debut. TYCOON DREAMER ran well in his initial preparation as a 2 year old and has trialled well for his return. Numbers: 8 – 11 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – DESERT ORA EACHWAY RACE 4 OCEAN GODDESS found herself back in an awkward spot in running last start and got caught up behind tiring runners before bursting through late to get within a half length of key rival Jackpot Bingo. With a 1.5kg weight swing and hopefully a slightly better run in transit it looks a great chance to turn the tables. JACKPOT BINGO was a 14 start maiden who is now looking at a winning hat-trick at start 17! He broke his maiden impressively and then rose 5kg into a C1, rode the speed and proved too strong for them late. This is another step up into a C3 but he’ll get the run of the race from barrier 1 and has to be respected. GOLDEN KATHLEEN continues to attack the line and now has drawn a gate. Big threat. BLACK FOR CASH goes lengths better at Ascot but is still rarely far from the action. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – OCEAN GODDESS WIN RACE 5 MEDIA MOGUL was a good thing beat first-up and then duly saluted second-up. On paper it looks like they’ll leave him alone in front and as we’re seeing time and time again, Holly Nottle in front, very hard to run down. PEACEFUL RULER might be a handy horse. Was sent out a $6.50 chance on debut but monstered them down the centre to pull away for an impressive win and was immediately tipped out by SJ Miller. His recent back straight 930m Lark Hill trial looked sharp and he seems to have a bit of X-Factor about him. DARK AMBITION is still a maiden going around in a C1 but did show plenty of promise as an early 3 year old and his trial form is on show in Race 1 & 2 through Tycoon Dreamer and Admire Belle. GUARD THE MULLAH could be under-estimated coming out of Esperance. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – MEDIA MOGUL WIN RACE 6 SEARCHIN’ TIMES was $31 into $18 first-up, sat no better than four deep the trip, was green and wayward in the home straight and still got the job done. After the Holly Nottle claim she’ll carry only 56.5kg and has a 3kg weight pull on main danger So Si God who she’ll likely settle a pair in front of. Think she can give this a shake and she’ll be eachway. SO SI GOD is extremely well placed and no doubt the one that the market will want. She’s a 3 year old 0MWLY ‘back in grade’ into a C1. Same set up as Wonderfully Made last Wednesday who was annihilated in betting and won accordingly. Nice filly. QUICK COOKIE is giving 110% and knocking on the door. Shades on, quick back-up, back in grade. Hard to knock. LUNA ASCENDING finally drew a gate last week and won well. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – SEARCHIN’ TIMES EACHWAY RACE 7 SNIPPY WHICH was huge two back under 60kg when 5 weeks between runs, 1400 back to 1200m and forced to sustain a run out wide on a leader/fence program. Last start again ran home really strongly into third behind Bird’s The Word and Rommel’s Goddess and now finally gets a bit of weight relief from a favourable draw. Looks a good set up for him. LET’S TALK bolted in a 0MWLY before being thrown in the deep end by Jim Taylor into a 72+ 1200 when beaten just over 4L by Elite Missile and Prospector’s Pick in a race that turned into a swoopers event. Back to his right class here and should run well. RECONNAISSANCE was forced to do it tough in a 3 year old Plate behind subsequent 3 year old Magic Millions winner Twisted Steel. SNOW PRINCE wasn’t far behind Snippy Which last start and gets a lovely run. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – SNIPPY WHICH WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,6 2,4,6 4,9,10 1,3,4,5,9 Market Market
