Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 17, 2024September 17, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CAMPFIRE JACK will go around odds on at Belmont Park after failing to win a race in Broome (feels illegal), yet on paper he’s the horse to beat. Even when he was racing on the grass at Northam/Narrogin/York last year he was promising to win a race and his run behind Hide The Oreo’s was a ripper only two back. Gets his chance. GUN LAKE has been whacking away well enough to give cheek. RUBICK DELIGHT has shown glimpses from time to time. STRUTTING FOR CASH was 1200 to 2200 last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – CAMPFIRE JACK WIN RACE 2 JACKPOT BINGO put the writing on the wall at his first up run. He finished second splitting Arcadia Park and Mean Machine and now drops back into a 3 year old 0MWLY. He is well related, he’s a lovely mover and he should only improve into the preparation. Gate throws up a curveball but with a half decent run in transit he looks the one to beat. THE TOP BAR will have no such map troubles – he should roll straight to the top and after the Brayden Gaerth claim he looks very well in. SNIPPY SEAN has run two solid races in maiden company. THINK LIKA WINNER hasn’t had much luck recently. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – JACKPOT BINGO WIN RACE 3 CAMERA ACTION only won a Kalgoorlie maiden but the form throughout her other starts is easily good enough to justify her being the one to beat in this moderate F&M C1. She nearly pinched a Saturday race last campaign when nosed out on the line by Snippy Which and it’s worth remembering that off the back of a really good trial she went around $6 first-up in a race that contained Deferred and Silver Eye. Like the way she goes about it. MISS WALL STREET parked up on speed last start to make a good thing of it at $1.70. She’s better with cover. AYUMI finished behind Trespassing and subsequent winner Ima Wild Girl. FLINDERS LANE went close in a maiden. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CAMERA ACTION WIN RACE 4 DECORATION just missed second-up behind Mine Host and has clearly returned in career best form. He’s likely to slide forward and park just behind likely leader Mirrorschino and from there he will loom the winner on straightening. He’s starting to work his way through the lower grades nicely. MISSILE STORM lands 1×1 following his every move and that makes him the logical danger. Solid win last start. MASTER TACTICIAN has relished the rain affected tracks over winter. Will he be the same horse on a Good4? MIRRORSCHINO can give cheek. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – DECORATION WIN RACE 5 ONE PUNCH has been promising to win a race all preparation and now dropping back into a C1 and racing on top of the ground he looks to get his best chance yet. So far this campaign has split Deferred and Silver Eye, finished within a length of No Brainer, run second to Jelly Can Run (since second to Wango Award), put in a shocker on a Heavy8 and then bounced back to finish third behind Mine Host and Decoration. Right race. CORRECT CHOICE went from a maiden straight into a 60+ Graduation and wasn’t disgraced behind Watch Me Rock and Trio. Big danger. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER trialled well. SUNRBONZED hasn’t had any luck this prep. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ONE PUNCH WIN RACE 6 MADE IN MEXICO is a jump and run 1000m horse who has found his niche this preparation. Won effortlessly first-up down the straight, won impressively second-up round the bend and then was backed as if unbeatable in a 66+ when finishing third behind Under Influence and Songaa. Struck a really heavy track last start and never travelled. Freshened, Pike back on and racing on a Good4 all look positives. SUNNY HONEY won an identical race to this three starts back. MISS ESPRIT is a sharp mare resuming but has a tricky gate. MAGNALEE is as honest as they come. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – MADE IN MEXICO WIN RACE 7 PROSPECTOR’S PICK looks very hard to beat. He thumped his maiden rivals at Pinjarra when leading and dominating over 1200m. Went straight to a Saturday 3 year old 1400 when run down in the shadows after skipping clear on straightening and then endured a tough run before being sent for a freshen-up. Simon Miller’s horses go super off the 8 – 12 week gap and he should get across without burning too much fuel. DREAMTIME JEAN trialled well and showed on the Goldfields he’s got upside. KELORA trialled well. STATE OF FURY may need the run. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – PROSPECTOR’S PICK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4 1,3 4 3 Market Market
