Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on May 28, 2024May 28, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 UUKHAI trialled really well at Belmont leading into his return to racing when contesting a fast run 3 year old 0MWLY behind talented type Justabittapress. Back into a maiden, fitter second-up and drawn to get every chance from a favourable alley. Likely to be popular in betting. Looks a great race for him. MAGICASH looked sharp in her 950m trial win. She bounced on the lead and never looked like being run down. ROCKING GEM comes back into a maiden after running credibly in a C1. VENTURO returns to the races and matched motors with Sir Eyrelton who ran well on debut last Wednesday. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – UUKHAI WIN RACE 2 HAPPY AS LARRY has been going well all preparation and the form around Fly With Caution / Cool Memory / Miss Rockjoy looks good enough dropping back into midweek company. His only career win was at Belmont Park over 1400m and he should stride forward into a prominent position. Has only won 1 from 19 so you’d be wanting eachway but expect we’ll get that at stages in betting. RED TORI looks the testing material. She accelerated away from them impressively last start at Pinjarra and has run well with 59kg previously. SIRIUS STORM is only an Albany maiden winner but looks to have a lot of upside. STRIKING FELLA forgiven for one uncharacteristic shocker. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – HAPPY AS LARRY EACHWAY RACE 3 MILYEANNUP ran well on Soft7/Heavy8 type surfaces in her first couple of outings last season and she has put the writing on the wall at her last two. Big effort in defeat on a deteriorating track at Pinjarra over 1800m and then narrowly out bobbed by Snip Of Gossip last start at Northam. Can park out deep and sustain a run and turn this into a true test of stamina. STRYKER’S GAL was sectionally impossible from where she settled last week. The first 800 was run 14L slower than maiden average and she settled last. Huge effort to get within 3L of the winner. ULTIMATE DEEL looks like he wants every inch of 2200. ALMAYA steps up sharply in distance. Numbers: 10 – 12 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – MILYEANNUP EACHWAY RACE 4 HOSTILE TALK was dominant on debut and sent straight to a 60+ Graduation on a Saturday when remarkably jumping even money after being annihilated in betting. Pulled up with excuses and resumes here off the back of a sharp 950m trial win. Looks like he wants to get things over and done in a rush – still plenty to learn but undeniably talented. MILITARY POWER is a 2x C3 winner and a Soft6 winner who drops in grade and maps to get a lovely stalking run. Keep safe. CAPRE OMNIA was a good thing beat last start at Pinjarra. He’ll likely snag back and then look to unleash late. Deserves to win one. THE GREAT HOYA had a wonderful preparation for new trainer Jade Tangaroa and parks on speed. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – HOSTILE TALK WIN RACE 5 OBJECTIFY looks a nice filly in the making. She only had two runs in her first racing campaign when winning in style on debut and then backing it up with a solid third in a 3 year old 0MWLY. Given two quiet trials under Bradley Parnham she should be ready to go fresh and from the draw she can sit midfield with cover and unwind late. Like the look of her. CHINA SPIRIT hasn’t done much racing in C1 company and Dylan Bairstow has a knack of improving these tried horses. SENTIMENTAL BELLE always goes around short for a mare who has been a beaten favourite fair and square on a number of occasions. PRINCE OF SANTOS resumes without a trial in typical Summer Dickson fashion. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – OBJECTIFY WIN RACE 6 NOD AND SMILE resumed in a C3 1400 off 179 days last campaign and was backed from $7.50 into $2.50 in a spirited betting move. Unfortunately for punters nothing went right and it turned into a very ugly watch as he got shuffled further and further back behind tiring horses and went to the line untested. He’s a wet tracker, he has raced in higher grade at 7 of his last 8, Summer’s horses to super fresh and he has Pike. We go again. ELBOW LOUNGE and DON’T TRUST JUDAS are both talented types who will be winning better races than just C1s. Great opportunities for Cassey Martinan and Chanel Cooper respectively. NOVATORIO was a sound return. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 13 Suggested Bet – NOD AND SMILE EACHWAY RACE 7 MAJOR MARIO ran home powerfully behind Rommel’s Jeuney and subsequent winner Belle Journee two back over 1400 and then went to a Westspeed Platinum when unable to get into the race won by stablemate Valdarena. Maps well, races like 1650 will suit and in an open and even contest looks one of many winning chances. KISSES FROM KELLY has been scratched the last two Wednesdays with a hoof abscess / stone bruise. Proven wet tracker who is more than capable if right. GRATIAS DEO ran really well fresh. LORD RANDOLPH broke through last start. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 14 – 12 Suggested Bet – MAJOR MARIO EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 8 1,2,3,5,7,10,12 1,2,6,7,13 2,4,6,9,11,12,14 Market Market
