Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on March 12, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 INFLUENCING and RUN PATTIE RUN are likely to battle out favouritism in the quintet of runners to open the program at Belmont Park. It’s hard to ignore the way that INFLUENCING is going having won a 1200m maiden at Pinjarra on the Scarpside before carrying an extra 2kg and winning a C1 last week. Holds a spot from the draw and gives 110%. RUN PATTIE RUN put the writing on the wall at her return to racing down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra Park. Small field suits a sit and sprint filly like her. FLY WITH CAUTION put on a clinic at Bunbury on Cup Day and comes through a soft recent trial. HERO HUNTER might want further. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – INFLUENCING WIN RACE 2 FOREVER CLASSIC’s last win was a C3 1400 at Belmont Park when leading and winning by over a length. Given the fact there’s little to no speed in this event and she’s drawn barrier 1 you’d think they’ll look to hold up on the mare and turn this into a rack and stack affair and a sprint from the top of the corner. Nobody does that better than Brad Parnham and thinking he’ll look to try and pinch this. Should be ready third-up. PRINCESS IN RED backs up off 7 days and has a senior rider engaged. She was doing her best work late last week on a day where it was near impossible to make ground. YALLINGUP GIRL is racing with great consistency but just seems to lack a killer blow. SNIP’S ROCK is going well. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – FOREVER CLASSIC WIN RACE 3 IRONCLAD BOY comes through the Stylish Lord race and with Biondo going huge last week as well as Grand Reserve coming out and winning we’ll follow that as a form reference. You could mount a case for half the field in this and most of them have more convictions than attractive qualities on exposed form. Racing like he wants a mile and CJP is back to his brilliant best. MR TALENTINO ran a ripper first-up in a 3 year old 0MWLY before being thrown in the deep end into the Lex Piper Stakes. Big improver back to a maiden. FLASH OF DALLAS was only getting warm late on debut in a fast run race. ALIEN CLOVIS is a month between runs, 1800 back to 1600m and was scratched on 21 Feb. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 14 – 2 Suggested Bet – IRONCLAD BOY EACHWAY RACE 4 COOL MEMORY vs HEMLOCK STONE appears the extent of the first leg of the quaddie. They’re likely to both jump under $3 and given that COOL MEMORY will likely waltz to the lead and HEMLOCK STONE likely settles off the back of the speed we’ll side up with COOL MEMORY. Bar Plates go on – always a concern, however, Darren McAuliffe’s yard is one of the few who can put them on and still win races. Luckless last start in a Saturday 3 year old event and is racing consistently well. HEMLOCK STONE was a brilliant first-up winner. Missed away, worked his way through them and was running away from them on the line. Looks in for a good preparation. NOBEL LAURENCE caught the eye fresh over an unsuitable trip. CHINA SPRIT is trying hard. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – COOL MEMORY WIN RACE 5 SIMPLY is on a WATC Derby Path and he’ll likely proceed from this lowly 50+ open racings handicap into the Listed Melvista Stakes over 2200m. He’s an out and out stayer and no doubt Jarrad Noske will sit him out the back and stay out of trouble as they roll along behind natural speed pair Blue Card and Comalilbitcloser. Expect he’ll make a sweeping run from the 600 and prove a bit too good for these. HIERRONYMUS BOSCH was crunched in late betting last week and he ran a massive race into fifth. Settled in a different postcode to the leader and kept coming. He stays. BLUE CARD rolls to the top and rarely runs a bad race. SAVORSKI gets out in trip to suit. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SIMPLY WIN RACE 6 CHERRY’S A STAR returns to the races off the back of a soft trial behind Sonoftheboss. She didn’t wear blinkers in her trial, she made good late ground and in this race she maps a treat parked in behind the speed. Looks to get the right run and should be eachway throughout betting. SOLAR SYSTEM has his first start in WA. He’s jumped under $5 at all four starts in NSW and no doubt will have a following at his first start for team Gangemi. Can lead or box seat and expect he goes well. KIRALUI trialled super at Lark Hill. Just likely to get back off them from a wide draw. CHER/STORM LEADER/DARK LOOKS trialled together and there was little between them. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHERRY’S A STAR EACHWAY RACE 7 TIN CHOOKS had to push through a marginal run at Pinjarra, pick himself up and gather in Lord Gannicus in the final 100m. He did a great job to get through and win and expect that he’ll be extremely hard to hold out here. Provided they’re making ground at Belmont on Wednesday he looks one of the better bets on the program. Ready to make his way through the grades. BANDALERA BEAU missed the kick last start and settled further back than expected. He can settle closer with a clean jump. MISS INTENTION found the line well first-up in a race dominated up on the speed. You’d think she’s likely double nominated for the Westspeed Mile on Saturday at Ascot so watch for scratchings. MAGIC WHISTLE goes well fresh and seems to love Belmont Park. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – TIN CHOOKS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4 2,4,5 2,3,4,5,6,7 2,5,6 Market Market
