RULER ROCKET likely looks to hold out Cosmopolitan Girl in the early stages to ensure he has room to move. If he can do so, he looms as the one to run down and almost certainly goes round on the second line of betting. He’s got plenty of raw ability and has trialled well on two occasions alongside talented types Rusty Dream and Estimator. RUPERT’S EMPIRE is drawn a little sticky but over the 1000m at Belmont Park you can sit three deep and win. He showed his class down the straight at Pinjarra when recording a soft first-up win. COSMOPOLITAN GIRL is quick and honest. GREY MISTRESS sits back and waits. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – RULER ROCKET WIN RACE 2 MISS FIELD is a last start 60+ Graduation winner dropping back in grade into a C3. She’s extremely well placed by the highly in form Danny Morton yard and she’s a proven weight carrier as a first-up winner with 60kg. She’ll sit right over the top of the speed in a race without an obvious leader on paper and from there she’s hard to get past. SUPPORTIVE has burst onto the scene with two big wins in maiden grade and then a C1. She’s got a good turn of foot and if she can overcome a tricky alley she’ll loom large late. MICHELADA and FINE ROMANCE both resume off solid trial efforts. They’ve both got enough ability to measure up here. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MISS FIELD WIN RACE 3 LIL’ BIRD TOLD ME was an incredible drifter on debut. She opened up ~$12 off the back of her impressive trials and traded a whopping 70-1 late in betting. She was completely luckless and looked to have plenty to offer had the gaps opened on straightening. Was held up the entire length of the home straight and with even luck can win at start two. Think she’ll be popular with replay watchers. ZOUBOLTZ has been a bit of a tease this preparation but this looks a very winnable race for him. He again caught the eye last start behind Missile Storm when charging to the line through a fair bit of traffic. From the draw he gets his opportunity. CITINO trialled really well. The draw hurts. IDENTIFIER enjoys a soft run. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – LIL’ BIRD TOLD ME WIN RACE 4 ESTIMATOR is yet to taste defeat at trials or race-day. He sat just off a hot speed on debut set by sharp Taylor maiden Military Power and then put him to the sword in two bounds when skipping right away from them to record an emphatic debut victory. Immediately tipped out for a spell and returns off a 400m jump out and 950m trial win. Looks like the kind of horse who will only get better with racing and this looks an easy kill before ultimately heading to Saturday grade. UNIVERSAL FLAIR has been ridden quiet at trials. She’s got a level of ability and while she’s better suited on rain affected surfaces she can play a part in this late in the race. HE’SGOTWINGS has flashed glimpses from time to time. RISING COMMODITY is trying hard. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – ESTIMATOR WIN RACE 5 EL PATRON was enormous at his return to racing. He sat four deep without cover the entire and then when horses started to make their runs into the corner he was flushed five and six deep in the straight. Thought he was extremely brave to somehow fight on to finish third and watching the replay it’s easy to convince yourself he’s capable of turning the tables on Simple Logic. NORICH comes through the same race and Troy Turner spent the entire length of the home straight searching for clear galloping room. Went to the line completely untested. SIMPLE LOGIC returned to the winner’s circle in that race and now that he’s found some form, he can hold it. CHOICE BID doesn’t win out of turn but he’s rarely far from the winner. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – EL PATRON WIN RACE 6 STARRING KNIGHT has turned a corner and is working his way through the grades impressively. Broke through two starts ago when putting away a C1 field by almost 2L eased down, backed it up at Pinjarra when pulling away to win a C5 by 2.5L and now 6 days later he strikes another C5 with only 2kg more on his back. Maps to get the run he requires and Belmont Park should suit a horse with his race pattern. Hard to knock. MAHALEO put in a below par performance last start. That form has been franked through Magnificent Andy and his previous runs were all strong. Forgive. RECALLED won first-up 1400m last preparation and trialled nicely. KING CRUZER is quirky but capable. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – STARRING KNIGHT WIN RACE 7 KENTUCKY BLUE has been his own worst enemy in recent weeks, pulling extremely hard and over-racing throughout. Neville Parnham takes the blinkers off in an attempt to get him to settle and this race has a good genuine speed profile on paper (Float Our Boat, Maktastic, Tiger Move). Thinking that Steve Parnham lands one out one back from the draw and gets every chance to pinch one. This is an eachway the field job. MAKTASTIC ran second to Another Chino only two starts ago after doing a mountain of work on top of a ridiculously strong tempo. Forget he went around last start, nothing went right at any stage. LUKE’S PIERRO looks like he’s almost ready to win another one. TIGER MOVE was better than it reads on paper last start when attacked very early in the race. Fought on well enough. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – KENTUCKY BLUE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2 1,4,5 2,3 FD Market Market
