Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on May 29, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 NEMIROFF ran into the super smart Black Sabbath first-up this preparation and left the rest of the field for dead at the top of the straight. This is easier and he should find the front or sit outside. WORTH SQUARE was eye catching on debut and will need to settle back again. JEDAFFAIR has found traffic at every start this campaign. ARCHANT trialed up well for debut and could sneak under the radar. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – NEMIROFF WIN Race 2 PICASSO BAY was blinding on debut behind the undefeated Illustrious Tycoon and then was left flat in a strung out field at her second career start. Trialed quietly for her return and this is a nice assignment. TRAKIATO was a super trial behind Luke’s Gold and looks to have real ability. SONG OF VINCENT won well first-up and get a gun draw. MACROY has been scratched twice since her last run which has to be a concern. Numbers: 11 – 6 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – PICASSO BAY WIN SuperPick - Race 2 No. 11 Picasso Bay - Money Back Race 3 DUCK FEET is three weeks between runs and back in grade and trip. This is an evenly graded affair but he can bob up from time to time with the right run. FOUR WHITE FOX is really knocking on the door and with Pike engaged likely runs near enough to an even money quote. ECHOES IN TIME is back to her pet distance and drawn perfectly to give backers a sight. CLEVER DICK is a query at the trip but likely slides forward to lead or sit outside Yeah Bravo. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – DUCK FEET EACHWAY Race 4 DEALING is drawn woefully but we put our faith in Mitchell Pateman to get him into a position three wide with cover and in a very tough staying race he looks to hold winning claims. WHAT DAT SONG was impressive from back in the field in arguably a tougher race last start. MONTAGNA is another drawn poorly but has a nice turn of foot. TRIPLE EXPRESS is hard to catch but she will pinch one of these midweek winter staying races. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – DEALING EACHWAY Race 5 OREGON BRONZE trialed very impressively for her return and then was afforded no luck in running and did a mountain of work. Was brave to still be in the finish. CITICHANT looks your typical Paul Jordan jump and run type who should lead on her ear. THUNDERSTRUT was one of the better trials you will see for a midweek race like this. Only query is where on earth Lucy gets to from the gate. DOUBLE THE PRO resumes fresh without a trial and has nice form to his name. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – OREGON BRONZE WIN Race 6 FRIAR’S GIFT is incredibly well weighted here having only received 1 point for his last win over some handy country types. Tough race and should be eachway. HEART OF COEUR seems to grow a leg for William Pike and was simply run off his feet in an extremely fast run 1200 last start. QUALITY FAIR is getting on in years but his trials have been impressive and can fire fresh for a new stable. FATHER KNICK has been a shade disappointing of recent times but his last run was encouraging, returns to Belmont and has blinkers added. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S GIFT EACHWAY Race 7 STATE PROSECUTOR has been fairly hard to catch at times throughout his career because he tends to over race. If he can reproduce the run in the Raconteur Stakes then he will be too good for these. RESISTANCE has had an interesting preparation but drops significantly in weight and ran well last start. RETOSONA will be looking to find the front from the outside gate and can give a kick. QUEST TO VENUS is yet to really fire on paper this prep but both runs have been handy enough. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – STATE PROSECUTOR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,6,7,8,11,12 4,5,6 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,12 5 Bet Now
