Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 15, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PROCEEDS OF CRIME is one who might just sneak under the radar of the market framers and open a price. Race form only fair, recent trial was very encouraging and Pike drawn to sit midfield. He can run a race and no surprise to see a distinct fluctuation. MR MT WALKER is nominated for the 3 year old carnival features and trailed up nicely of his debut. PAMBELLA was wayward in a recent trial, interesting to see where she lands from the inside. THE HONEYMAN has caught the eye a few times in his career. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – PROCEEDS OF CRIME WIN Race 2 NOT TO BE MIST is a nice animal resuming. Won three on the bounce before suffering his first defeat in a hot race that contained Flower of War, City Circle and Forgotten Star who all have above average ability. Natural back maker is a big concern at Ascot with rail at 10 but he looks like going through his classes. OCEAN’S FIFTEEN will jump and run and takes serious catching. Clocked strong sections on debut and Ascot should suit him. DENIM PACK is well placed in this grade. WANNA BE GOOD is easily good enough to win but hard to follow. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – NOT TO BE MIST WIN Race 3 BOBCAT JOHNNIE looks the winner on paper. Likely to open ~$1.60 he should be too strong for moderate opposition. Was big in defeat behind Nerodio two starts back and then was unable to reel in a leader who got it way too cheap in front at Northam. REVEUSE can improve second-up and position up well in the run. HIGHFRIAR is going well and wins one soon. ARTIE’S JEWELS was poor last start. Looking for an improved run. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – BOBCAT JOHNNIE WIN Race 4 IS A BOMBSHELL drops out of mainly Saturday 2 and 3 year old races into a C1 fillies and mares. Her most recent she cut back to the inside pad which was lengths inferior on the day when making ground behind Some Sort, Rio Del Mar and Specialism. That form should be the barometer here, draws well and McNaught’s claim is an added bonus. MY FAIR BALENTINE is a nice filly worth following. She is still learning but was brave in defeat last time out. MISSALFIE got under the guard on debut when winning impressively. MELTEME freshened up and back in trip to give cheek. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – IS A BOMBSHELL WIN Race 5 SILKINIZE should position up just behind speedy pair Drinkwhatyoulike and War Saint in the run and enjoy a nice run throughout. Won well on debut, trialed well for return and is nominated for all the WA Summer Carnival features. DRINKWHATYOULIKE should be an Ascot filly. She is jump and run and is in form. WAR SAINT is a nice type resuming and can still win from the breeze. JAGUAR GREY is the half to Fred Dag and looks like winning her fair share of races but from last at Ascot first-up could be a task. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SILKINIZE WIN Race 6 WINDSTORM will be all the rage and can overcome a likely leader/rail bias to win against the older horses. Follows a very similar path to many of Bob Peters’ better 3 year olds, tipped out after 1 win and aimed up at the features. Could be one outside the box. POSITION OF POWER will have a head start on him and is going well and looks the logical second place getter. LACEVINSKY and REWRITE THE STARS take care of the speed and should be suited. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – WINDSTORM WIN Race 7 ARMED AND READY was good first-up at York, disappointing when a huge market drifter at Toodyay and now faces his highest quality opposition of the preparation. But W.Pike goes on and he draws a barrier in a high speed event. That is a deadly combination. STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON never got warm at Kalgoorlie. She can stay and draws well. RAYARNIE was a tough winner last start when sitting on top of a fast tempo and kicking strongly. PERSISTENCE TIME has been off the track recently. Keep safe. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – ARMED AND READY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,6,7 1,3,4 8 1,3,4,5,6,11 Market Market
