Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on May 14, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WAR SAINT won’t be any flash price but his debut win on a Heavy track was excellent and then he tramped three deep no cover over the speed at his second race start when having no luck at all. Should bounce straight back. BRAVE CONTENDER did it tough on debut and can improve. TRAMIKA hails from the strongest juvenile camp. If there is money, she’ll go well. BUSY ONE was not disgraced in his first campaign. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – WAR SAINT WIN Race 2 SHAPITA ran second to Dance Music in a Placid Arc, beating home the likes of Festival Miss, Cup Night and Pablo’s Poem. Recent trial was soft and she should be hard to beat at her return. Trial only fair but had no blinkers. DON’S LEGACY was the target of strong support at Northam and went very close. Only run down by a fairly classy type in Finally French. MEGACHINO will be winning one soon but does a fair bit wrong, WAR IN PARADISE can run a big race on debut, trialed like a nice horse. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SHAPITA WIN Race 3 AMELIE ARGOT an eye catching type of mare. She is the winner of 3 from 6 and at her best she can carry the weight, sit right over the speed and win this. Recent trial was strong and this field is not overly deep. Looks too classy. CHISANO can go close if connections elect to go to this but likely saves for a small field at Northam. PAGO BAY was a good run in Saturday grade last start but draws awkwardly. COOL SERENITY did it tough first-up wide the trip, improves here. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – AMELIE ARGOT WIN Race 4 BARAMAGIC has shown a bit in a short career. Debut run was brilliant. Yet to reproduce that run but gave the impression that he can gallop. Draws far better here than he did first-up and meet a weak field. SNOW BAMBOO got going late fresh at a huge price. Can slide forwards and run another race. RUN FOR MONEY draws poorly and has run two serviceable runs without flattering. COOL FROST the blow out. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – BARAMAGIC WIN Race 5 STOICISM was in a winnable race first-up and didn’t really fire to expectations. Drops in class here and draws poorly but he has run in far stronger throughout his career and is a 66+ winner in a C3. MEGADON is racing out of his class but the recent trials have both been super impressive. MEN OF MUKINBUDIN is hard to catch but on his day he could go close in a race like this. MERIVALE MISS improved sharply from first-up to second-up after a long injury enforced lay off. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – STOICISM WIN Race 6 STATE ATTORNEY is the winner of only 1 from 10 and has a propensity to go under as favourite. His trial was strong, his race form is strong and last preparation his first three runs (all good) were in C3 and Graduation company. Hard to hold out here in a C1. GESSATO went well first-up in a Saturday race. To Rise Again is a subsequent Saturday winner and he can lead or box seat in this. TRADE POWER has ability and can fire fresh. GATES OF BABYLON dropping back in trip could improve, especially if finding the front. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – STATE ATTORNEY WIN Race 7 UNIVERSAL MAE looks to have found her race. Last six or seven runs have all been encouraging and she is always right there in the finish. This is arguably the weakest field she has met in recent months and really gets her chance. DISCOVILLE usually goes well in this grade. Finds the step to Saturday just a little bit sharp. KENDEL’S MEE DAD comes out of maiden grade but looks like he will stay all day. PATCHIRAC can run a race on speed. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – UNIVERSAL MAE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,8,10,11 1,3,4,5,7 1,3 4,5 Market Market
