Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on April 1, 2025April 1, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ELITE BEAU is the first 2 year old of the year for Grant & Alana Williams. Was a very slowly run trial where he found the front, racked and stacked and then sprinted off the corner but he still looked visually impressive covering the ground. SOLAR CHANT is from the Stormchaser / Perfect Chant family and in her 400m jump out she broke 24 seconds and beat home undefeated Supremacy Stakes winner Luana Miss. Tough barrier but looks sharp. XENTARO was in that heat as well and went well. PYGMALION finished second to Snitzalatte and beat home Good As Hell. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – ELITE BEAU WIN RACE 2 MAGALI MAGIC has been a real find for Tom Wolfe. She’s the half sister to Quokka bound Rope Them In and her recent runs over the short course have all been excellent. In her most recent 1000m race she missed away, got held up and was still only 2L off Amaroo Star who won a 60+ Graduation on the weekend to go three on the bounce. Nice race for her. FLAGSHIP only knocked up late when run down by Sixinch Heels. No disgraced to finish in the minor money behind her! DIVINE IMPACT improves for the run. AMARLIME will appreciate 1200. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – MAGALI MAGIC WIN RACE 3 ELEGANT INDI trialled like a filly who would be winning races this campaign and has found what looks an extremely winnable maiden first-up at Ascot. Likely to jump from barrier 4 after scratchings and from there should be getting every chance. POLYVANOVA wins one eventually with her positive jump and run tactics. Hit a soft6 at Albany – forgive. GINGER AND TONIC was ducking and weaving a passage through the field late at Pinjarra. TIVACISAURUS is a big awkward moving lump of an animal. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – ELEGANT INDI WIN RACE 4 SMART ENERGY looks the perfect kind of NARS Series apprentice horse. Chanel Cooper can come out positive from the wide draw, work her way forward and on paper looks every chance of actually finding the front. Most of these are midfield/backmarking types and as a lightly raced 3 year old he’s also got more upside than them. SKY GOD is working into some form. ROCK DEE JAY is always there abouts but doesn’t win races. HEWILLDOUS got out of a pickle at Geraldton. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – SMART ENERGY WIN RACE 5 MIGHTY HOSANNA was excellent first-up. She showed good gate speed to get across from her wide draw and then at the top of the straight she left a few handy maidens standing still and skipped away for a dominant win. Likely to find the same position in running and from there is capable of producing the same result. QUEEN OF HAWKS couldn’t shake them off at Belmont first-up. She’ll improve for the run. BRAZEN BID is awkwardly caught in between grades. The claim helps. PLAYBALL showed plenty in his first campaign of racing. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MIGHTY HOSANNA WIN RACE 6 ZOUBOLTZ has been in good form all prep and from barrier 1 Luke Campbell should be able to give him a very similar run in transit to when winning four starts back. Gets all the favours from barrier 1 and with 54kg on his back looks hard to hold out. SHOOTING SPIRIT is not an easy ride for an apprentice but expect that Rosie Mahony will drop him out to last and then try to join the three deep train as soon as it builds into the race. Best horse – toughest ride. BONDI PLUNGE should be bouncing out into a prominent position close handy. SIMPLY THINKIN’ got home well first-up. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ZOUBOLTZ WIN RACE 7 HYMNS OF ELADDAIR was backed into $1.60 last start in a Westspeed Platinum and couldn’t reel in Brazen Empress. Didn’t get the cleanest of pathways into the race and gave the impression he was screaming out for 1400m. We go again. DUG ANOTHER HOLE has gone to a new level this preparation. Showed last start he doesn’t need to lead but he’ll need to be good with 61.5kg. WEMBANYAMA put the writing on the wall at his WA debut and Mack Hall continues to produce plenty of winners. SCHUHBECK isn’t easy to ride or follow or trust. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – HYMNS OF ELADDAIR WIN RACE 8 CAMERA ACTION was excellent first-up in a C5 1200 when rattling to the line behind Deferred / Hammarmill. Back in grade, out in distance and always shown enough ability to make her way through the lower grades. SISTER TALK ate up the ground last start and produced a dominant and fast 1400m win. If they allow her to cross (which looks a genuine chance on paper) she’ll be hard to run down. LOVA SESSION was getting to the line well first-up at Pinjarra and now has a barrier to work with. Doesn’t win out of turn but gets the right run for a mare like her. LE MESSAGER a watch. Tony Triscari – enough said. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CAMERA ACTION WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,6,8 1,2,4,5,6 1,2,3 1,5,3,11 Market Market
