Scott Embry’s Tuesday Bunbury Preview Posted on December 31, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DEVOTED STAR is a well related filly being a half to Group 1 place getter Enticing Star and on debut. Is a recent trial winner in impressive style and the trial before finished behind two above average types. Likely to be odds on but should wind up over them and win. FRIAR’S CLASSIC should be just about ready to break maiden status. Ran into what could be a fairly nice one last start when sitting second throughout. Looks the likely leader here and gets his chance. DIGNITY BAY charged home first-up in an eye catcher, second-up was poor. KING STREET an improver. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DEVOTED STAR WIN Race 2 MANHATTAN MONEY, ADORNMENT and LADY SI DAENG are all on debut and all trialed well enough to win. Might just be a reasonable enough form reference going forward but in this race we’ll go with ADORNMENT for Pike/Peters and Williams. Trialed well on 3/12 and then never saw daylight last trial. MANHATTAN MONEY comes from a stable in white hot form and was eye catching down the outside at Lark Hill. LADY SI DAENG showed speed. KENYLUCK has always shown a bit at the races. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – ADORNMENT WIN Race 3 FUTURIST has been really consistent since arriving in WA without winning but should position up close handy and this is far more suitable than the 1000m straight race where many horses simply don’t go. LIES IN DISGUISE should find the front and roll along for Turner. Nearly 40% of winners over the short course at Bunbury lead into the corner. ROSEBUSH is in great form and is yet to put a foot wrong. MY LADY FAIR bolted in last start but draw makes it tougher. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – FUTURIST WIN Race 4 SHERA KHAN has had 8 starts in WA since arriving from South Australia and in that time has run some very encouraging races. First-up was over an unsuitable trip but this race lacks depth and she gets a wonderful opportunity to win one. PRATTLE and THE DIVINE WIND should both position up close handy and run nice races. PICTURE PERFECT has looked a little one paced in trials but the trip likely suits. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHERA KHAN WIN Race 5 BRITISH BESSY was eye catching two starts ago really hitting the line well and then stepped up to 2000m where she kept coming late. Could be a nice staying mare in the making but dropping back here with blinkers on looks hard to beat. NEON FLARE has a real X-Factor about him and will win races. Big strong type who likes to bowl along out in front. GENZEBE looks a stayer, was only getting warm late in a recent 1450m trial behind Neon Flare. BEE QUICK ran around and still hit the line well last start. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 12 – 11 Suggested Bet – BRITISH BESSY WIN Race 6 FRIAR’S GIFT certainly doesn’t win out of turn but the majority of his racing in the last few months has been in 62+ Saturday Graduation races and 66+ races. Drops back to a Class 5 here and back to a track where he does his best. This looks his race. SNOW BLOSSOM needs the track to be playing fair. She gets back in her races and can reel off strong closing sections but if they’re not making ground she’s shot. SCANDAL MAKER is a new horse under Mark Wright and can win again. GLIMMER GIRL is her own worst enemy but has the form to win this and win it well. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S GIFT WIN Race 7 ABELDANE has been beaten at the 600 his last two but for anyone who has followed him throughout his career will know that he is a very unique and quirky galloper. Gate 10 is suitable for him because he’s slow away and can work his way to the front and if he gets into a rhythm can win at a price. STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON only won a slowly run Class 1 race last start but she didn’t get things her way and still got over them late. Likely runs odds on and probably deserves that quote. BLACK ATTACK is consistent. COLLABORATE kept coming last start in an encouraging run. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – ABELDANE EACHWAY Race 8 EXPRESS FLIRT has a tough gate to overcome but he looks to have returned well this preparation and now from his most recent run Beat The Bell has won again since and Lucky Linda Lulu is another subsequent winner. Makes the form look good. SLICED BREAD is likely to find this a fair bit easier than most recent assignment. HOODLUM THUNDER was great two starts ago and put in a shocker last start. That kind of horse. TRIBUTE TO GLORY is improving with racing. Numbers: 3 – 12 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – EXPRESS FLIRT WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,8,10,11,12 3,4,5,8 1,7 3,4,5,6,9,12 Market Market
