Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 20, 2026May 20, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FRIARS LEGACY is double accepted for Wednesday at Belmont in a C3 that runs deep and a C1 here at Pinjarra which only has 7 runners, of which 2 will be despised roughies. You’d think they’ll end up racing here over what looks to be a distance range he’s looking for. Great in defeat first-up, but thought he had his chances second-up? That being said, he’s now C3 back to C1 company and drawn to breeze. SAIGON DANCER trialled up really well behind First Encounter in a 1450m at Lark Hill in preparation for her return in a C1 1300 at Northam where she broke her maiden and ran right away from them. LAND OF NOD got home nicely on debut at 1200m and then ate up the ground second-up at 1300m. Looks like your typical Grant & Alana youngster who will continue to get better and better with racing. DOMINANT FORCE needs 1400. She’ll be winning C1/C3 races too. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – FRIARS LEGACY WIN RACE 2 KING OF THE TOWN ran a narrow second to Effortlessly in a 1400m maiden, with subsequent maiden winner Show On The Road back in third and off the back of that performance was sent out a $2.20 favourite when heavily commissioned (again) and beaten into second behind Midnight Star (since won a C1) and beat home Arizona Sky (since won by 3.1L), Thors Angel (since won by 3.8L) and Gold Enigma (since won by 3.4L). With Pike on he’s going to be $1.36/$1.38? ROCKING IN BROOME is a real one paced staying type who will appreciate getting out to 2000m. MR FRODO was also in that Midnight Star race but did finish an eternity behind King Of The Town and has since ben beaten in an Albany maiden. MACHO ARQUERO drops 3kg on the 7 day spin and gets the services of one of the States best. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – KING OF THE TOWN WIN RACE 3 SAVVY RULER was first-up, no trial, off 203 days at 1600m at Ascot and with another stride she gets the better of Show On The Road. Was a race where they went ridiculously hard: first 1000m run 15.1L faster than average and last 600m run 16.5L slower than average – they were all gassed before the corner. The market loves those races where it’s a war of attrition and expect she’ll be extremely popular in betting. SPECIAL COUNSEL got too far out of his ground in a slowly run event last start. Was sectionally impossible from the 800. Forgive. MISS SANTA CORRS is a little one paced but she’s returned to racing well. Caught the eye fresh and then matched motors with Free To Fly in an ugly sit and sprint race last start. ROYAL TALK was scratched last Wednesday at Pinjarra but fought on bravely behind Shimmery Star 18 days ago. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – SAVVY RULER WIN RACE 4 BOSUN had three runs in his previous campaign: eye catching third on debut in a $50,000 maiden behind London’s Rascal and Articole, split She’s Hot and Call Me Frosty in a deceptive photo finish second-up and then may have had enough third-up when beaten behind Media Mogul into fourth placing. Recent trial was strong and if he jumps he should get himself into a nice spot. Only a matter of time until he wins one. NAUGHTY LORD is drawn off the track but his runs in the Challenge, Lex Piper and JC Roberts were that of a genuine Saturday horse. UXORIOUS put the writing on the wall on debut. He got a long way back in an on speed dominated event and if Jolson Al wins at Belmont on Wednesday the form will only look stronger. RADIANT LIGHT is 2x Saturday placed and has also finished less than 1.4L off Ninetymilestraight who has run second to undefeated star filly Hot And High. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – BOSUN WIN RACE 5 SHOW ON THE ROAD and JAVELIN STRIKE both ran same day at Ascot over 1600m. The maidens stopped the clock at 1:36:63 and the C1 gallopers stopped the clock at 1:36:99 so really don’t think there’s that much between them and if anything the 3 year old might just have a touch more upside than his 4 year old rival. Realisticlly this likely comes down to who gets the better run in transit but thinking that Brad Parnham and SHOW ON THE ROAD can roll to the top and control the race. JAVELIN STRIKE should still be only 1×1 or 1×2 so he’s well within striking distance and has clearly turned a corner in the last month. FLAMING RONDA is racing like 1600m will suit. ALABRAE is a difficult horse to follow with much confidence. Such a negative racing pattern. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHOW ON THE ROAD WIN RACE 6 CONCHETTA’S DREAM is a handy filly who definitely tries hard. She’s not a Grant & Alana A-Grader but she’s the kind of horse who can win a C1/C3/60+ Grad without surprising and this looks a nice kick off point for her against the older horses with only 55.5kg on her back. First trial better than the second a minor query? TWO TIME CHARLIE was a super win at his first start for SJ Miller and then was below his best second-up. Scratched on Northam Stakes opening day, has bar plates on, has changed yard (again). Must have some issues, but there’s a decent motor there. AMARETTO BO broke her maiden at Newcastle first-up last preparation and then two starts later won a C1 1250 on the same track, leading and winning. Market watch at her WA debut. MISS VALMALENCO comes through a high rating, winner producing race. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – CONCHETTA’S DREAM WIN RACE 7 PONY UP is a little ripper. She’s having her 20th start at the races and is only a 3 year old filly. She had 9 runs last campaign and then only a 60 day freshen up between preparations (as well as a trial in between). Won a C3 1600 Heat of the NARS series and then hasn’t been disgraced since. That Think Pink Daze, Astro World, Miss Esprit races is going to be popular with punters and this doesn’t look any harder for her, even though on paper it’s a ‘rise’ in grade. KERVETTE will find this easier than her 60+ Graduation races and the last time Chanel Cooper rode her in a C3 mile she won very impressively. Right race for her. WHERE’S MY LUNCH is hard to run down on his day and could be underestimated bringing country form. WAYNE THE PAIN won the inaugural Rockingham / Lark Hill Cup and has been in form for months. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – PONY UP WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,7 2,3,7 6,7,8,11 1,2,4,6 Market Market
