Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 30, 2024May 1, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PLAYING GAMES should be too sharp for her rivals here. She’s had two runs this preparation – third behind The Boss Lady (subsequent winner) beating home Barney’s World (subsequent winner) and then last start finished second behind undefeated filly Twain’s Angel. She looks extremely well placed by Meryl Hayley. TROPICAL SUN attacked the line hard at Narrogin to narrowly miss. She’s settled in well at her new home. SIMPLE LOGIC was sound behind Forest War last start in a near identical race to this. SEMIGEL finished off well in the same race. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – PLAYING GAMES WIN RACE 2 SKYTALKER made an impression on debut at 100-1 when a narrow second to A Lot Of Good Men in a 2 year old SWP and then first-up last preparation was 2.5L off The Boss Lady in a 3 year old 0MWLY. Love the form, hard to ignore the trial and drawn to get all the favours. Great race for him. THE KNIG’S UNCLE won a recent trial by 1.5L over a filly with some ability in Lifeisbutadream. FINADO made his debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind Riseanfall who has run well since. POWERPOP races on speed and shouldn’t be a maiden too long. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – SKYTALKER WIN RACE 3 WEAPONS HOT and CHAMPAGNE STREET both raced down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra first-up and there was a vast discrepancy between the times of those two separate races. The Jaz Session race was ¬6L quicker than the race won by Brave Shot. Didn’t think WEAPONS HOT was too bad in the Jaz Session race and we get a good sighter into the strength of that form through Jaz Session and Ocean Outlaw on Wednesday at Ascot. CHAMPAGNE STREET was backed as if unbeatable in her maiden to the point where she jumped $1.40. She had absolutely no luck and looked to be bolting. Logical top 2. ONLY US found the line well fresh. FINDOUT wasn’t too bad behind Diamond Light / Watch Me Rock. Numbers: 6 – 11 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – WEAPONS HOT WIN RACE 4 WARNING SHOT was popular in betting last week in an attempt to knock off Sandfire Rose. If punters thought he was capable of knocking off that filly then surely they’ll butter up here over 1800? Looks a one paced staying type who may still need more ground, but this is a thin old race. DR ON CALL is a massive lump of an animal but there’s something there. He parked deep and kept whacking away first-up. CENTRALLA can bounce to the top and dictate terms. From there she’ll be in front for a long way. VERGREY caught the eye first-up at big odds. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – WARNING SHOT WIN RACE 5 SASS SKYE could get awfully short in a race of this nature. She was excellent first-up over 1400m behind Cruise To Rio and then was targeted in betting last Wednesday at Pinjarra before working hard through the early and middle stages after being caught deep initially. She’s now on the back-up, drawn 1 with Pike in a race without a lot of depth and quality. Looks a big money horse. ABSOLUTE WEAPON caught the eye and now has a set of blinkers on. Reproduces and can run a race. MISSEDTHEDEEL comes back in distance and did run second in a C1 two starts back. BOOM LEGEND trialled up well enough. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – SASSY SKYE WIN RACE 6 STRYKER’S GAL kept coming behind all the way winner Striking Fella last start in a race that was dominated from the front. She was 1200 to 1400 and is now out to 1500m and from the draw she should get a near identical run in transit. Like the way she’s finding the line and think this is winnable by her standards. LET SPARKS FLY finished a narrow second behind Rubick Lass last start and was a massive improver from the disappointing run at Geraldton. Danger. CHEVAP is first-up at 1500m off nearly a year’s absence but has trialled well. COVENTRY REEF will continue to find the line even if he has to sustain a wide run. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – STRYKER’S GAL WIN RACE 7 SNIP’S ROCK admittedly is not an easy mare to catch, however, two starts back she flashed behind IMPERIALIZE and meets him 1kg better for a half head margin. Last start was ridden by an apprentice and you can always be forgiving of beaten horse in those Apprentice Only races. Giving her another go. IMPERIALIZE was a late scratching at the most recent meeting. Can lead or more likely park on the back of Divine Inanna. DIVINE INANNA ran well at a mile last start and now has a 3kg claim bringing the weight off her back. ALLEGRO SONATA scratched from last Wednesday to save for this. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SNIP’S ROCK WIN RACE 8 PANDORA GIRL will need them to be able to make ground on the Scarpside with her natural get back racing pattern but for punters we can sit patiently and watch the day unfold before deciding whether or not to invest. Back out to 1400m is a plus and her run last start wasn’t terrible considering that the race was dominated from the front. Prior effort in a C3 behind dual subsequent winner Fly With Caution reads up really well. MORE THAN ENUFF can continue to improve into the campaign and now has a 3kg claim. CRIMMO is versatile. Can split the difference between leading and sitting in this event. STRIKING FELLA broke his maiden in style. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – PANDORA GIRL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 9 8,9 1,2,4,8 1,2,3,5,6 Market Market
