Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 19, 2023July 20, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SIMPLY ROSSO was beaten 3L first-up but behind Little Strawberry and Esprit Garcon. Little Strawberry has already franked the form by running well in a 60+ Graduation on the weekend and Esprit Garcon will be popular on Wednesday in Race 1 at Belmont. Happy to follow that as the form reference. PROFIT POCKET comes through the same race. There was 2L between them on the line but thought Profit Pocket did a good job late in the race. GODS WRATH was poor a month ago. Forgiving, previous straight track form was solid. INDIE RULER is quick and will look for the coveted outside fence. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SIMPLY ROSSO WIN RACE 2 LIEUTENANT DUNBAR was home last start until the last stride when somehow Truly Awesome zapped him up the inside. Has become a bit of a story of his life with Lieutenant Dunbar, close but just can’t break through and win one. He’s now drawn barrier 12 of 12 to make things tougher and could run into a sharp filly who gets a big weight pull on him. One more time. SECRET STYLE is interesting placement. She’s a 2 year old filly on debut who takes on the older horses at 1200m. She’s shown well and truly above average ability at trials and with only 53.5kg on her back expect she’ll be popular. LIGHTNING GOLD ran well behind Bartime who races Wednesday at Belmont. DODGEM lead them running last start. Think that’s the way to ride him. Numbers: 2 – 12 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – LIEUTENANT DUNBAR WIN RACE 3 Assuming Esprit Garcon and Another Stride both scratch for their respective Wednesday Belmont races, then we’ll side up with FOREVER BOY who is another 2 year old from the Peters Investments operation stepping out on debut against the older horses. William Pike jumped aboard in his most recent trial and he got the job done. Looks like he’ll keep improving with racing and this is not a deep maiden. Gets his chance. TERRATIFF went around 100-1 on debut but ran a ripping minor. If she can reproduce she’s dangerous. PLAYING RIO did a bit wrong first-up but he’s clearly got a motor. FLASH MAX has been getting better and better each and every trial. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – FOREVER BOY WIN RACE 4 KISSES FROM KELLY is still a work in progress but he has better than maiden ability. His seventh on debut was still strong only beaten 5L by Amber Glide, Becalotti, Pompey, Desennea, Finchy and Beach West and then he ran narrow minor placings at his next two starts. Liked his trial win and from the draw he should get every chance at his return. Worth following. ZULTANITE has put in two handy runs at odds since resuming from a spell. MAZE MASTER and QUEEN NARDI bring intrigue as 2 year olds with big weight pulls. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 12 – 11 Suggested Bet – KISSES FROM KELLY WIN RACE 5 ZAZA ROCK has now had five starts and finished second on four separate occasions. They didn’t set any speed records last start (first 1000 was 4L slower than average) but she was still planted deep for a vast majority of that event and looked like she raced really greenly at stages. Improving filly and does drop 1.5kg with Brandon Louis going back on. PROPHET AND POWER won’t leave them dawdling in the middle stages. He’ll get rolling a fair way out and turn it into a staying contest. Ready to win. ALLEGRO SONATA was a big improver last start and should get a soft run. JIVE KING continues to whack away. Pike on helps. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – ZAZA ROCK WIN RACE 6 LUCKY’S WAY sneaks back into a C1 here. Two runs this preparation have been in a C3, beaten 3L by Bigdayonit, Millivoy and Diamond Command (races Wednesday) and then a 3 year old 0MWLY beaten 3L by Imperialize, Invincible Ruby and subsequent winner Bonjoy (also races Wednesday). Like the placement and the map. JELLY CAN RUN was eye-catching down the ‘wrong’ part of the Pinjarra straight and then got the job done in a driving go last start. GO GO GROMMET is probably better drawn wide than in close considering his propensity to miss away. Big query on him stepping out to 1200m, especially with 61kg. TRIONFANTE is better than her last start. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – LUCKY’S WAY WIN RACE 7 MISS INTENTION has her second start for Mitch Pateman but more importantly returns to Pinjarra Park where she seems to grow a leg. Loved her trial over the 1000 at Belmont behind Art of Sabrage and then thought her fresh effort was solid behind Divine Flirt. Big watch. TIFF’S LAD is really well placed back into a C3. He’s been running consistently good races for months now. WOZZECK ran well last start behind a handy filly in Bonjoy in a better quality race than this. MONEY FOR OLD ROPE has turned a corner. Can stride across from the wide gate to offset the barrier. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – MISS INTENTION EACHWAY RACE 8 REGAL ACCESS won a C3 1200m with 60kg first-up under Paul Harvey and now will look to reproduce, same track, same distance, same weight but in a C5. Went to town last start and never gave up the chase behind Villeins. Has options from the draw and Paul Harvey is back aboard. HERE’S DREAMING comes through the Songaa, Final Authority, Art of Sabrage race that is producing it’s fair share of winners in a short period of time. Should only improve for the run. IMPERIALIZE marches across from the wide gate to sit up on speed. RED FIFTY THREE will divide opinions. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – REGAL ACCESS WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,6,9,11 1,2,7 1,2,4,5,8,9,12 2,3 Market Market
