Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 20, 2023June 20, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MASTER OF CEREMONY was only 2L off Santa Brae and a head off Bergamo when they all met over a mile on 14 June. Since then Master Of Ceremony has finished fourth beaten 1.5L behind Antique Mis, Manhattan Strip and Sesswa in a 3 year old 0MWLY. Racing like he wants the staying trip and 8 days alter that’s exactly what he gets. BERGAMO has always shown glimpses of ability. She’ll save all the ground along the inside and gets her chance. SANTA BRAE was given every mortal hope last start by Joey Azzopardi. First 1000m was run 17L slower than average and he still couldn’t get away from them. SUPER ROMANI got chopped out in a race that was all over by the time he got moving. Forgive. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MASTER OF CEREMONY WIN RACE 2 LOST GRAVITY is quick. He worked really hard in the early stages to march across from barrier 1 down the straight on debut and was only run down in the concluding stages by Outfield. He’s now drawn barrier 11 of 13 and can jump, run and hug the outside fence. Hard to run down. LIEUTENANT DUNBAR is one of the more talented maidens in the State. He has again trialled like a bomb and if he hands the straight he’ll be hard to hold out. LADY MAYFLOWER has looked the goods at trials and is drawn to follow Lost Gravity in running. Another who won’t be a maiden long. AROOCHACHA hasn’t had much go right at the races. Trials have all been impressive. Great form race going forward. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 13 – 4 Suggested Bet – LOST GRAVITY WIN RACE 3 SENTIMENTAL BELLE gets one last chance. She’s gone around at an average SP of $2.60 in four career outings and we’re all patiently awaiting her to reproduce her debut run when second to Vampi At Play in a 2 year old midweek SWP. She’s finally drawn a gate and should have no excuses. One last time. CHERRY’S A STAR looked to have the race won first-up but just couldn’t get past American Agent who kept kicking. ZAZA ROCK showed ability in her first preparation of racing and her trial behind Lieutenant Dunbar could look even better after Race 2. TEABISCUIT is a work in progress but has ability. Numbers: 10 – 11 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL BELLE WIN RACE 4 PLAYING RIO hails from the Great Southern yard of Paul Hunter who engaged the services of William Pike at trials and who sticks on race day. Ran a great race at odds on debut and then finished second to Starchienne at Barker at his second start. Liked the trial and there’s no standouts in this. TWO BROTHERS has put together a few handy runs without finishing in the money. Has to overcome a tricky draw. DODGE EM didn’t fire a shot down the straight. Don’t discount back around a bend. MANY THANKS showed ability at trials and is drawn to get all the favours on debut from an ideal barrier. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – PLAYING RIO WIN RACE 5 WICKED COOL gave plenty of cheek out in front last start. He rolled along at a genuine temo throughout and was only gobbled up in the last 100m by impressive debut winner Great Demon. Secret Attraction was back in third and she’s a subsequent winner herself beating Iffublush at Northam last Thursday. Rolls along and takes running down. FLASH PADDY trialled nicely and took it to the races on debut. Looks like the extra trip will suit. PROPHET AND POWER can march across to park up outside of Wicked Cool. VINGINDA is E1. If he gains a start, he’ll have a following. Massive animal. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 7 – 15 Suggested Bet – WICKED COOL WIN RACE 6 PREPARE FOR CHANGE, DIRTY CHAI and BELLE JOURNEE were all in the same C1 first-up behind Scenic Eclipse at Belmont over 1300m. When you go back and watch that replay it’s hard to ignore the run of BELLE JOURNEE. She then went close behind Amjaad (luckless in the Belmont Guineas) and can be forgiven for a slightly below par performance last Wednesday in a C3. Drops back in grade and looks one of many chances. PREPARE FOR CHANGE trialled well and has run well in two starts back. DIRTY CHAI meets him 1kg better from last start and gains William Pike. HEAVENLY LADY won well last Wednesday. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BELLE JOURNEE WIN RACE 7 KERMAN ROCK has been a difficult horse to follow over the years but maybe he’s starting to find his feet, and they’re definitely finding the way to ride him. He loves to roll along and he gets others uncomfortable. Can’t take much from his 25L trial win, the two rivals were lucky to finish but expecting him to roll forward and give cheek at his return. CAPTAIN SHARMANE gets back out to 1400m. Think that’s about as far as she wants but she’ll get a soft run. AMBERGATE ROSE is flying. She’s a get back mare who will need the pattern to allow the swoopers to get into it. TIFF’S LAD is racing consistently. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – KERMAN ROCK WIN RACE 8 ALLEZ ALLEZ made his Michael Lane debut in the Northam Traders. This is a very similarly graded race over 1400 and he should only improve into the preparation. Has finished second in a 66+ 1400 on a Soft6 at Belmont on a Saturday so there’s plenty of fun to be had this campaign. WITHOUT REG has the concussion plates coming off and he has returned in career best form. Gets the run he needs from the middle alley. BEAT THE BRO just can’t quite pinch one. OLY’S CHOICE is yet to recapture his best. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALLEZ ALLEZ WIN RACE 9 REGAL ACCESS trialled nicely over the 950m at Lark Hill when matching motors with Divine Flirt. Proven weight carrier, proven fresh commodity and Paul Harvey rides him well. If he jumps he can cross them and find the fence which would be a huge plus at his return. AIRLIE QUEEN trialled nicely. She’s sparingly raced and usually turns up fresh. Drawn to get the right run for a mare with a short, sharp turn of foot. WHAT A PRINCE drops 4kg after stalking a hot tempo last Wednesday. DAZZLING DANE was a solid debut for the new yard. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet – REGAL ACCESS WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,4,5 2,4,6,7,8,12 3,4,6 1,6 Market Market
