Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 17, 2022August 17, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FLY AWAY HOME finished fourth first-up behind Mia Gusto, Uncle Gerard and Shooting Kontiki before again finishing fourth behind Rejuva King, The Great Hoya and Uncle Gerard. Step to 1500m looks ideal and he can go close. SUNPLAY has turned a corner since being ridden for speed. Second to Kelvinator (beating home subsequent winner Mojo’s Luck) and then second to Union Jack. Again likely rolls to the top. SPECIAL SORT was fully tested at trials by Dyson but attacked the line well. MAKIN PROPHETS is accepted for Wednesday and Thursday. If Wednesday is washed out it’ll look very astute. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLY AWAY HOME WIN RACE 2 KIA ORA JEWEL backs up off 7 days but most importantly gets out in trip to a mile. Loomed large half way down the straight last week but couldn’t quite get over them from a fair way back in the field. Draws better, settles closer and strikes a similarly moderate line-up. Gets her chance here. ON GUARD M’LADY ran well first-up and second-up under Troy Turner. He gets back on here. STAR IN TIME was really well supported in betting last start but only ground it out late. MISS INTENTION tracks up along the fence and does no work in running. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – KIA ORA JEWEL WIN RACE 3 STORM LORD and JAG SUPERTROOPER met in a recent 1100m trial on a Heavy surface at Lark Hill and there wasn’t much between them in the finish. Thought that STORM LORD was travelling the better of the two and think he can run a race on debut in a wide open straight scamper. SMILING GIRL has the runs on the board and is a proven wet track and straight track mare. Takes running down. PEACE INVENTOR hasn’t shown much on the race track, however, both her trials this time in for Graeme Ballantyne have been strong. Keep safe. SECRET IDENTITY has no weight on his back and won a recent trial in style. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – STORM LORD EACHWAY RACE 4 DO IT RIGHT was a tough watch first-up. Trialled really impressively for the Jodie McLaughlin yard on 16 May and then wasn’t seen at the races until 28 July. Never got clear at any stage in the home straight and looked to have plenty to offer. Has shown glimpses over the seasons and this looks winnable. QUEEN ALINA finished fourth on debut to Grace Du Roi and Serviceman. Trialled nicely and will be hitting the line. RONELLDO didn’t show much on the track in his first preparation but his recent trial was sound beating home Queen Alina. BELLE NOIR won a trial at Lark Hill beating home impressive first-up winner Western Knight. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DO IT RIGHT WIN RACE 5 MR MEGSEY is double nominated for Wednesday and Thursday. Hoping they race Wednesday so that we can get involved in FLEUR DELACOUR who gets in with only 53.5kg and finished less than 3L off Rejuva King, The Great Hoya, Uncle Gerard and Fly Away Home (Race 1). Great form for an all age maiden. LEGACY OF TARA has a tricky draw to navigate but trialled behind two nice ones in Trespassing and Leniency. PULLING RANK like Ronelldo in the previous didn’t show much in his first campaign but trialled well. TWO BROTHERS is a 7 year old on debut. Trials alright. Numbers: (2) – 10 – 11 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – FLEUR DELACOUR EACHWAY RACE 6 KOLCHINO hasn’t fired a shot since his emphatic C1 victory four starts ago. This race has a lot of speed (Run D’Affair Run, Axel ‘R’ Eight and Kolchino). Thinking that Shaun McGruddy may opt out of that early speed battle and track up in behind Run D’Affair Run. Improver. RUN D’AFFAIR RUN put together two impressive all the way wins under Paul Harvey before heading to town into a 66+ when going way too hard in front. GENERAL GRANT has 62kg to lump but he’ll be finishing off well late. HE’S A LUCKY LAD could well settle 8+ lengths off the lead which means he’ll need to sustain a big run. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – KOLCHINO EACHWAY RACE 7 LET’SDEAL like a number of horses on Thursday’s program is double nominated for Wednesday and Thursday with the uncertainty of whether or not racing will go ahead at Belmont Park. Regardless of whether he races Wednesday or Thursday we want to be with him at his return to racing. Now that the 3 year old season is done they can take him through his grades rather than racing him in Listed/Group company. PRIZE PURSUIT was good two starts ago but only plain last start. IRRITABLE RODNEE never came up for air last Wednesday at Belmont. EVIDENCE looks a different horse at Pinjarra. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – LET’SDEAL WIN RACE 8 OCEANIC RIDER has shown above average ability in a limited sample size. Ran second to Kaptain Kaos on debut before finishing fourth in the Perth Stakes. Romped in a maiden at start three and then was only seen twice last campaign in Feb/March. Free rolling type who Brandon Louis should suit and Sue Olive produces them first-up ready to win. RISKY LYRICS finished third behind subsequent Saturday winner Currimundi last start. Right form. CHERRY CAN RUN let rip and won well last start in a maiden. DIVINE MERCY is another double nommed for Wednesday and Thursday. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – OCEANIC RIDER WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,10,11 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,6 2,4,8 Market Market
