Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 19, 2022January 19, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CASH AWAY returns to the races first-up no trial which is the unknown, however, the debut performance when finishing second to Famous Jurney was strong. Since that day Famous Jurney has finished second in a 58+, second in a C5 and won a C1 to make the form look pretty strong. Putting him on top in the hope he’s ready to go fresh. RAKIURA has the priceless straight 1000m form and the best barrier draw in the field. She’ll race up against the outside fence and be there again. PRIMATIVE wasn’t too bad last start. Looks to be improving. CRAYGEE makes her debut and with the Team Gangemi debutantes it always pays to watch the market in the last 5 minutes of betting. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – CASH AWAY WIN RACE 2 PRARIE ANGEL backs up off 7 days from a C1 staying event when she ran home quite well in behind them in a race dominated close handy to the speed. Lucy Warwick is a great rider of stayers and with the massive long straight unveiled on the Pinjarra Scarpside (400m straight) it will be a test of stamina and patience for these horses. Trusting Lucy Warwick to pull the trigger at the right time. NORTHEAST EAGLE stepped straight into a staying race at only start number two. Got going late to pull ground off Sembello. GLENAUREEN travels really well in his races and then doesn’t really have a turn of foot when asked for an effort. Looking for every inch of the 2200. REGAL RULER backs up off 7 days and immediately gets out in trip. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRARIE ANGEL EACHWAY RACE 3 AL TINA was double nominated Wednesday and Thursday and Michael Lane has elected to go to this race. She would have been the on top selection at Belmont on Wednesday and so now she’ll be the on top selection on Thursday. Only had two starts for the new yard but has been equally impressive in both. With Valency winning well last Wednesday and hopefully Miss Field running well at Belmont the form looks good. Ready to win. MARCHAMLEY won his recent trial well. Fred Kersley’s yard is going well at the minute and Beaux Edwards is riding well too. TOTAL LOCKDOWN was better last start. Clearly no star but he’ll pinch a maiden eventually. IM ALL MISS was under a big hold in her recent trial. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – AL TINA WIN RACE 4 CHANG MAN has blinkers re-attached for his return to racing. Showed enough in his initial preparation and from the barrier Paul Harvey should have him poised ready to strike. Looks a nice race for him on paper and Paige Kenney’s yard is striking at 21% last 90 days with 18% POT. Worth following. RULELEE has the form on the board. Second to Border Force who has since won a 3yo 0MWLY and beat home Halatorion and Dalhousie in that first-up assignment. Scratched on 12 January so comes into this 29 days between runs. That, the wide gate and the loss of a senior rider are the queries. BORN TO BE LUCKY finished midfield in most efforts last campaign but there was nothing wrong with any of them. Quiet recent trial, soft draw and looks like she’ll be winning one this campaign. LUCKY LANDING finished off well on debut. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – CHANG MAN WIN RACE 5 PRIVATE SCENE was awfully unlucky last start when pocketed in behind tiring runners unable to get clear until the eventual winner and favourite Midnight Mystery had built all her momentum down the outside. Once she got clear she flashed late and now gets her opportunity to break through. HIS EMINENCE ran into Never Sober first-up (now a C1 winner) and First Missile second-up (likely to be popular later on the program). Knocking on the door. DO IT RIGHT has been thereabouts in each and every run since joining Jody McLaughlin. LE GRAND JEU will keep coming. One paced type who will need a bit of luck from the gate. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRIVATE SCENE WIN RACE 6 MIDNIGHT MYSTERY and FIRST MISSILE are both last start maiden winners. Both are get back, run on types who should in theory be suited to the long straight at Pinjarra Scarpside. Going with FIRST MISSILE who was luckless first-up when tramping wide the trip and then backed as if unbeatable last start when romping to victory. Likely drops out to last and winds up down the centre. MIDNIGHT MYSTERY will settle back with him and there isn’t much between them. FAIROUGE was well supported in betting last week and gave a real sighter at a mile. Backs up off 7 days, comes into a C1 and drops 100m. Should loom the winner again off that effort. PRIZE PURSUIT is better than what he showed first-up. Back in grade and down in weight after the claim. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – FIRST MISSILE WIN RACE 7 VEVINSKY was an interesting run last week. Seemed to run his race in patches with Paul Harvey having to really get stuck into him (to the point he copped a whip fine). Like the fact he backs up, like the fact he steps up in trip and like the fact he strikes a race without aas much speed. Can settle closer and looks a staying type. ACTING GOD won well down at Albany over Kutsanya and then hit the line powerfully from a long way back on Fitzpatrick Plate day. Like the barrier, like the horse and is racing really well. Jett Stanley knows him now and he’ll be thereabouts. COMEALILBITCLOSER is teasing at the minute. Perennial place getter and long time C1 who continues to attack the line when the race is all over. POSTER ART just kept coming last Wednesday. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – VEVINSKY WIN RACE 8 SOCKOFF is very quick and Holly Watson rode her perfectly last start. Her biggest asset is her high cruising speed and when ridden like the best horse in the race she’s going to win her fair share of races. Carries the exact same weight and if she runs the clock to the save level as last start, she’ll take running down. POKER FACE is no slouch and showed a liking for the straight five course when last in work. No surprise to see her run a big race fresh. CANTO DE GUERRA is a bulldog. He’ll be up for the fight if it turns into a high speed, high pressure battle. JANAURA is another on-speed type drawn wide. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – SOCKOFF WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,6,10 1,5,6,7 1,2,3,4 3,6,10,11 Market Market
