Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 5, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 JUST UNDER should be breaking her maiden at start 7. Wasn’t able to reel in Bolshoi Gal last start but chased very hard. Likely to settle in the back half of the field at all her outings but this race is very thin and while she’s likely to be short she should be saluting. VITAL FLIRT comes from the same race and was strong too. FAIROGUE backs up off 7 days after a fairly moderate return to the races. ICELANDER an improver drawn the inside. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – JUST UNDER WIN Race 2 FUSION loses William Pike due to suspension but Lucy Warwick is a very successful staying rider and looks a brilliant choice of replacement. From the draw she should have her sitting midfield with cover and she’s put the writing on the wall at her last few. MISS MARANTA has to sustain a run from where she is likely to settle but is building. LOVE STRIEKS couldn’t have done any more last start and is bursting to win one. RAPITORIO looks like she’ll appreciate the ground. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 7 – 12 Suggested Bet – FUSION WIN Race 3 CONGREVE ROCKET was an impressive trial winner back in July at Lark Hill and took that form to the races when far from disgraced on debut behind speedy filly Madam Torio and perennial place getter Agent Kensington. Looks like the step to 1200m will suit even better and with natural improvement and experience from the debut run should be going close here. GINGER GREEN hasn’t been seen for a long time but the debut run was far better than it reads on paper. Keep safe at a price. AMERICAN GRIN is a better horse than what we saw first-up. ZAC LUVS TO FLY looks a jump and run type. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CONGREVE ROCKET WIN Race 4 CLASSIC MAGNUS was backed off the boards first-up. Was around $5.50 into $2.40 throughout betting in a sustained move. Left the cash in the bookies bag but the form does looks super behind Billy Aint Silly and subsequent impressive winner Empire Reign. Blinkers go on and she can regain some lost cash for punters. FIRST MOMENT wasn’t a bad run on debut even though finishing seventh. Could be worth following up. SCOOZ ME has looked to have ability at trials but the gate hurts. SAINT CLEMENTS hails from the premier juvenile yard and trialed up well enough. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC MAGNUS WIN Race 5 ZAALAH was crunched on debut. $2.80 into $1.60 and then was run down comfortably by 300-1 pop Nobel Spirit. Has to be a natural query on that form but willing to go again after an impressive off-speed trial. Interesting to see how they ride her here. BON ODYSSEY clearly has some attitude issues but if she doesn’t run her race before the gates open then should be right in the finish off the back of an impressive first-up outing. MY TOP SECRET is going well and can roll forward from the tough alley. RETURN TO OZ was a nice trial and showed glimpses in previous campaign. Numbers: 12 – 13 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – ZAALAH WIN Race 6 ADVOCATOR trialed particularly well behind Floyd and Noble Reflection before running second first-up Eeyore Wayz. Gets down to 55kg with the claim for Madi Derrick and from the gate she can settle midfield with cover. Can let down stylishly on her day. WAR ANTHEM took a while to break through but hard to argue with her consistency. Rarely far from the action and no excuses here from the inside gate. VIN ROUGE is a tough on speed mare. Would love to see her jump cleanly and land in front. LOST CROWN was a sharp improver last time out. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 12 – 6 Suggested Bet – ADVOCATOR WIN Race 7 MONG KHON won well on debut and then was immediately tipped out. Not a bad return to the races and Jason Pateman has his team ticking over well. From the draw can be saved for one sprint off a soft run. SEA SPRING has always been around the mark and the fresh effort was huge. THE FINEST was big two starts ago when having no luck at all. Ended up in a tough position last time out and did a reasonable job to pass a few in the run to the post. THE THUNDERESS was a barnstorming winner first-up. Slight query with the form not holding up that well from the beaten brigade (Fire Goddess, Drama Free and Don’t Show Me Up) but the win to the eye was super. Numbers: 3 – 11 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – MONG KHON WIN Race 8 STREET FAIR first-up arguably should have finished right alongside Rewrite the Stars when never getting clear at any stage. Then stepped into a Saturday mile race when unsuited behind Bombay Style and Aberdeen Queen. Last start was run into the ground by Aragain and caught the eye in finishing third. ARTIE’S JEWELS comes from the same race and beat home Street Fair by over a length. He looms into races and then seems to run around a bit but he is clearly flying and wins one very soon. SAFETY BAY comes from a strong 3 year old race behind Fuhrer and Beat the Bro. Gate hurts but knocking on the door. BLUE HORSE consistent but lacks a killer blow. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – STREET FAIR WIN Race 9 ABSOLUTE has run third at each of his outings since arriving in WA. At his most recent finished third behind Zephyr Queen and Apollo and from the draw should settle leader’s back and give backers a genuine sighter. Plenty of races for him in Kalgoorlie but the fact that Peter Fernie has left him in Perth suggests he’s going well. ME ‘N’ TAZ looked home at the 250m marker last start but didn’t stick out the trip. That was the big query going into the race and back in trip suits. CHOICE COMMAND slides across from the wide gate and it looks as though Madi Derrick has elected to ride over Me ‘n’ Taz. SECRET STATUE made solid ground on a day where it was tough to make any. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – ABSOLUTE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,4.12 3,6,7,8,11 4,6,10 1,2,4,8,9,12 Market Market
