Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 22, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MIDNIGHT BLUE gets one more chance after disappointing last time out. Never got warm in the race and was all at sea a fair way from home. Blinkers on, Peter Hall on and into a weak staying race. XAARMERIT was attacked a long way from home last time out and did a good job to fight on into third. ELLEVISTA should enjoy the run of the race from the gate. Looks an out and out stayer. DESIGNER PRINCE has always promised to win one of these staying maidens. Could be his day. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT BLUE WIN Race 2 DARK MISSION was super on debut when clocking some outstanding closing sections. Then went around at $1.40 and was rolled fair and square when chasing throughout. Looks like she will appreciate a smother and gets her chance at redemption. LYLE’S CHOICE was excellent on debut behind Adelaide Ace at Northam when never giving up the chase. Went under as an odds on favourite at Northam the next start in a race run 3L faster than average. Trialed well for his return and should go close. SEA WAIF could cross and lead. TIFF HAS SPOKEN should appreciate a rise in trip. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – DARK MISSION WIN Race 3 EXPRESSIONIST ran well on debut from back in the field after being held up momentarily at the top of the straight. Finished off strongly and Modern Times has run well from that race since. Draws a gate and should only improve out in trip. MARTARELLO has always shown ability and ran well fresh. GINGER MACK set a solid tempo last start and never gave up. PATY’S FORCAST draws horribly but does race naturally off the speed. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – EXPRESSIONIST WIN Race 4 GOKU ran well fresh when three deep the trip and then Ryan Hill took luck out of the equation last start. Expecting similar tactics to be adopted here. IZZY MAY could get under the guard of a few but drawn the inside gate is dangerous. WESTERN CHANT drops back in trip and from the draw should be given every opportunity. BODEGA BEAU will be a huge price (50-1+) and resumes first-up, no trial back onto the grass after a north west campaign. He can surprise a few. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – GOKU WIN Race 5 MEXI COLA looks to have found a suitable race after being placed at two of five and being hard in the market at all outings. Resumed at 1400m and was doing his best work late. Noske sticks, weak field and gets his chance. QUINN missed away on debut but ran the best closing sections of the entire race. Keep safe. WINNIE’S WINE is building toward an elusive victory but again draws poorly. REDMILL can sit over the speed and run an honest race. Numbers: 3 – 13 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – MEXI COLA WIN Race 6 PLAYING MARIKA simply jumps off the page. She is always a slight risk with her race pattern but her last three have been arguably the biggest three runs of her entire career. Chased hard three starts ago behind Patristic, missed away two starts ago when smashing the clock and held up at crucial stages before flashing into third last start. YOU AM I won well last start but this is a touch tougher. FRIAR AWAY is suited in this grade and best is easily good enough. BOLD VICTORY caught the eye first-up. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – PLAYING MARIKA WIN Race 7 KELLY’S CALLISTO ran well fresh when third behind Transgressor and Lido Beach at an unsuitable 1000m. Horrid last start when last beaten 10L. Back to trials and looked fine. Can bounce back. BOSSY ROSE actually ran out of her skin first-up when only beaten 5L Flower of War in a 66+. Better placed here. DELANEY has teased punters for years and again ran a ripper last start. LOCK HER IN is going great at the minute and draws well. Numbers: 3 – 14 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S CALLISTO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,6,7,8 2,3,12,13 3 3,5,6,9,14 Market Market
