Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 NOBLE SPIRIT could open 50-1. Only having start number 4 in his career and first outing for a new yard. The first-up effort was better than it reads on paper beaten 5.5 and was one of the better closers (along with subsequent winner Western Chant). ELLEVISTA is a stayer resuming. Will need every inch of a mile but trialed well enough. MAGIC EMPIRE has had a lot of chances and was plain first-up. REDWOOD RANSOM can improve in a very weak race. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – NOBLE SPIRIT EACHWAY Race 2 WEAPONSON was backed as if unbeatable coming off a sizzling trial victory. Was slightly slow away from the inside and was crossed early. Was held tight for a big part of the race and got out when it was all over. Should bounce straight back and win this. AGENT JAY has trialed up like a horse who would be winning early in the campaign. VITAL FLIRT, THE ITALIAN JOB and RUN LIKE FIRE all ran solid trials and can fill minor holes on debut. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – WEAPONSON WIN Race 3 CROSSED SWORDS was released without a rider aboard at Lark Hill two trials ago and then when Ben Paterson was actually in the saddle at his most recent he trialed very impressively. From the inside either leads or box seats and should prove very hard to beat. SMART PRINCESS is speedy and draws alongside the favourite. PHANDIERI resumes without a trial but has shown ability in the past. GINGER MACK was far from disgraced first-up when only fading late. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – CROSSED SWORDS WIN Race 4 MIDNIGHT BLUE went through her gears at a recent Lark Hill trial when not knocked around. She looks like she’ll eat up the 1400 and while nothing has been making much ground so far this season at Pinjarra she does strike an even race. GOTTA MOTOR has been hard in the market at almost every career run and this is far and away his easiest assignment to date. BRAVE CALL races off the speed and will get back from gate 11 but has ability. STABLE GENIUS had no luck first-up. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT BLUE WIN Race 5 PUT A SPELL ON YOU finished third last start behind He’s A Gunslinger who had been knocking on the door all campaign. The horse who ran fourth Vitalilo came out and won impressively at its next start. Good enough form reference for this. CANDIJAY really excelled when allowed to find the fence and expecting her to lead again here. SAFETY BAY draws the inside to do no work in the run. STREET FAIR is a back marker with a big weight but does have a turn of foot. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – PUT A SPELL ON YOU WIN Race 6 TAWNY PETE absolutely bolted in last start when allowed to lead. If Pike can cross those inside him he is a different horse when left alone out in front. Can continue on through the grades. MASCHINO MISS is no slouch and will be charging at them late. Excellent use of the claiming apprentice. SUPREME FORCE was scratched from Saturday to be saved for this. In form and big chance. RESISTANCE has raced in higher grade than this most of her career but does find it hard to win races. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – TAWNY PETE WIN Race 7 ALIMENTARIA looks just about home in the C3 2000m stayers event. She took a while to break through after a string of placings but her two wins have been excellent. She bolted in against limited opponents at Narrogin but then was dominant three deep the trip no cover over a mile at Bunbury. From the gate she’ll do no work and looks the winner. MONTAGNA continues to tease punters by looming and fading. RAYARNIE can always give cheek in this grade. NAVY BLUE the blow out. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – ALIMENTARIA WIN Race 8 TYCOON STORM is a filly going places. The half sister to Reykjavik showed a powerful turn of foot last start and the form has already held up with Secret Pearl bolting in when well supported last weekend. This race is at her mercy. ARAGAIN won stylishly last start coming out of a hot Champion Fillies race. ADVOCATOR is not racing at her peak but Jade McNaught back on definitely helps. THE LAST BREEZE can always run a race if finding the top. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – TYCOON STORM WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 1,7,8,9,10 3,4,5,6 2 9 Market Market
