Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on December 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MISS PINS was excellent in defeat last time out. Had to go back to last when caught deep from a wide alley and sustained a run. With even luck from a far better draw she should salute and get Boxing Day Emu Drinkers off to a flyer. LIVING DAYLIGHTS is only lightly raced and this is the easiest assignment she has seen but the first-up run was poor. POWDERBELLE continues to jump short and finds one better every time. THE DIVINE WIND comes out of what looks a fairly strong form reference. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – MISS PINS WIN Race 2 DEMERITISE was doing her best work late and was involved in the bumping dual which saw Shape Shifter blunder and dump Harry Grace. From the draw Kirby can have her midfield and she’s right in the race from there. SPICULUS trialed very impressively when leading. Casey Hunter has her work cut out from the draw but if she can find a spot he looks to have talent. EURASIA is yet to run a bad race and contested tougher than this. LONROCK trialed well and Lucky Laqdar is starting to impress in the saddle. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – DEMERITISE WIN Race 3 SAUVEGARDE has won two from two this preparation and both in style. Ramoly should be able to hold a position midfield and from there it looks like the filly will be recording a winning hattrick. YADREAMIN’ is always around the money and well placed here by a travelling Cliff Green. ROUND THE POINT is always hard to catch and puts in a run fresh. REGAL REBELLE won well in maiden company first-up and that form could be enhanced in Demeritise wins. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – SAUVEGARDE WIN Race 4 ONE SHORT does find it hard to win races but this is the lowest graded race he has contested in his last 21 starts since winning a Class 5 at Pinjarra (and this is a C5). Last start 72+ metro placing looks super form. READ THE RIOT ACT has been far from disgraced in his ventures to the metro area and looks a genuine danger. LADY STINGRAY can lead them a merry dance again if left alone in front. She’s very zippy. MONGOLIAN WARLORD next best. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – ONE SHORT WIN Race 5 WAR CLASS was a strong C2 winner at Albany three starts back and then nothing went right for him in the Westspeed Final behind emerging star Not To Be Mist. Last start was no match for stablemate Starorio but did tramp wide the trip. Can turn the tables with some luck. STARORIO got under the guard last start and won impressively. TOP AGENT is not impossible at a big price. DEPUTANO is likely to need this and further. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – WAR CLASS WIN Race 6 CAPTIVATED POINT loves Albany and usually runs a big race fresh. He trialed under a hold and in a high-pressure race can be just off the leaders and finishing over the top. SIR SNUGALOT is far better suited back to 1100 after finding the 1400 a touch too far at his most recent. WOOLIBAR is an unknown as a veteran returning off a long absence. DE ANDES always a blow out. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – CAPTIVATED POINT WIN Race 7 TIME TO HUNT was simply enormous last start. He likes to get rolling deep from a fair way out and that’s exactly how it’ll end up here. If Yuill can find some cover and get a tow into the race he’ll be hard to hold out. MR PAGO is also drawn wide and will need some luck but racing well enough. NOTTA MOCHA back into 58+ grade jumps off the page. Not racing at his very best and has a big weight but well placed. IONYX showed last start that he is ready to win. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – TIME TO HUNT WIN Quad (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,7 1,6 5,9 1,2,4,5,6,7,9,10 Market Market
