Scott Embry’s Thursday Esperance Preview Posted on December 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HAPPY SANDAY was well supported at his first start this preparation for team Fernie. Draws the inside, steps to 1300 and can finally break through. CHOSEN ART is flying for Josh Brown-Forder and she’ll be very hard to beat here after being brave last start. KING FOR LIFE knocked on the door the entire Kalgoorlie campaign. MING XING is better than what she showed fresh. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – HAPPY SANDAY WIN Race 2 SAMMY THE BOSS was stiff not to pinch a race at Belmont last winter when finishing within a half head of Little Fish. That is great form for a race like this and in the small field he should zap them. FEARLESS GENERAL has won three career races, all fresh. If he can reproduce the first-up effort he’ll take beating. ICE ONE runs her honest and consistent race. CRYPTO PEER ROCKS a watch on debut in WA. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SAMMY THE BOSS WIN Race 3 ANOTHER DEMON is an 1100m horse taking on a few visitors and first-uppers who are not 1100m horses. From the inside Renee Forrest can find the front and from there they’re unlikely to catch him. BIG BLOWS had a wonderful Broome preparation for trainer, rider Michelle Hagley. SWIFT PLATINUM fresh off the dirt and back in trip is a handy ride for Tyla Conway. PENALTY POINT is not going well but expecting improvement at some stage. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ANOTHER DEMON WIN Race 4 YULONG ROCKSTAR was able to lead for a long way at the most recent Esperance meeting and now on the quick back-up is back to 1100, gear change and another good draw. Looks hard to beat. ASCENDANCY should not take long to win an Esperance maiden. Another very handy Oakland Park horse for the region. MISS CAIRO was a nice trial winner at Lark Hill and runs a big race on debut. RYDON went close last start. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – YULONG ROCKSTAR WIN Race 5 SNIPPIRANHA looks to have this race at her mercy. Ran second last start to Driftwood Girl in a tougher and deeper race than this. From the inside can lead or box seat and should be too classy. CITY RANSOM has blinkers removed from last start but was no match for Snippiranha. BUSY ONE won the maiden in style and can bounce back. TOTAL DISC was good in a higher grade last start. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SNIPPIRANHA WIN Race 6 KING’S AUTHORITY is in the middle of a preparation, rock hard fit and has been racing consistently in races which are 5L better than what he meets here. Has not won a race in over 1000 days and that was as a 2yo on debut but this race does look his. ALI BARBER has hit form and holds it well. Leads them up from the inside and takes running down. HILLBERT is looming but not finishing off his races. Continues to pick up a cheque. BUFF MAN chased hard last week. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – KING’S AUTHORITY WIN Race 7 RECAPITULATE was strong all through the Kalgoorlie season and then ran a really good race first-up at Albany. This is easier and he should find the top and dominate moderate opposition. ARCH TYCOON put in a good run fresh. PELICAN PICK is usually consistent but can take a few runs. ALL MAN is a stayer fresh who can sprint well. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – RECAPITULATE WIN Quad (Race 4 – 7) FLD 5 1 4 Market Market
