Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on November 29, 2022November 29, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FIORUCCI MAMA parked up outside of The Great Hoya last start at Belmont over 1200m and romped in when Luke Campbell cut the ribbons on straightening. Got right away from them for a resounding win and finds a similar race at 1100m at Northam. From barrier 3 should have no troubles crossing both Captain Sharmane and Tiffany Street and then from there finds the fence and controls the race. BORN TO TALK resumes and was highly competitive all last preparation. Solid trial. TIFFANY STREET is not racing like the 2 year old filly who went to the paddock undefeated. CAPTAIN SHARMANE has been going well at York with weight. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – FIORUCCI MAMA WIN RACE 2 THE MIGHTY BUTCH stepped out to a 1500m 46+ last start at York and finished only 2L off Miette Star (races Wednesday in a C3 at Belmont). Drops back 200m, drops back into a maiden, drops 1kg in weight and gains the services of John Allen who arrives early to ride Steinem in the Northerly on Saturday at Ascot. Should go close to leading and winning. GRECE LIGHTNING looks the logical danger. Lightly raced 3 year old who can sustain a run. Looks like he’ll get further in time. KESEM ran well on debut but was beaten by Master Buddha who certainly didn’t go on with it. MOONOVER is racing below her trials. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – THE MIGHTY BUTCH WIN RACE 3 SALARY MAN makes his debut for Todd Harvey over 1300m. In the last 750 days Todd Harvey’s debutantes have gone at 33% winning strike rate and 65% POT. They’re taken to the races ready to win and Salary Man looked comfortable when finding the front at Belmont trials. Expect he looks to lead from the inside and strikes a winnable race on debut. STAY ASTERN hasn’t had much go his way. Was held up at a crucial stage on Melbourne Cup Day. ROCK N TALES didn’t come up when last in work. Showed glimpses in his initial preparation. THERMOSPHERE LAD and FEARLESS TALK come through a fast run race on debut. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SALARY MAN WIN RACE 4 TORPEDOMAN, LUCKY SUE and INDIE RULER all come through the same race behind Deeta over 1100m at Northam last start. That race was run 3.5L faster than average and we get a sighter into the quality of the form through Scenic Eclipse on Wednesday at Belmont Park. Thought the effort of INDIE RULER who was parked three deep the trip was quite strong and swapping the barriers here gives him a great chance to find the fence. LUCKY SUE has always shown enough ability to win more than just a maiden. Won’t be long. TORPEDOMAN was responsible for that strong tempo and faded late. HOTORIO finishes off late. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – INDIE RULER WIN RACE 5 LET’S ERUPT looks hard to run down. Finished third behind Ocean Aura and subsequent maiden winner Restful at 1600m at Ascot before working hard in the early stages to cross to the fence when third behind Prepare For Change and Arnray over 1650 at Belmont Park last start. Straight to the top and kicks into the corner. MAKIN PROPHETS can sit on her back and enjoy the run of the race. DANCING JALAPENO has shades attached. The run before heading to Geraldton was sound. MINOR DETAIL is going better than numerical form suggests. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – LET’S ERUPT WIN RACE 6 BORDER FORCE was beaten a margin in his trial but the two leaders On The Full (races Wednesday) and Tadweer (raced last Saturday) did gap them a fair way out and Border Force was left a long way back in traffic. Showed massive upside in his initial preparation when winning a 1200m 3yo 0MWLY at start three after beating Rulelee in a maiden. Hasn’t been seen for a while but has some class about him. MY MARLAINA joins the stables of Danny Morton and from the draw can park up outside of Yeman Lass. Nice mare for this grade. MILITARY BEAT is going well but this is harder. AY TEE EMM is a query at the trip but well placed back in grade. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – BORDER FORCE WIN RACE 7 MAMA TEMBU has been a going really well outside of her grade in recent starts. Her last three have been in 60+ Graduations including running fifth behind Bustler, a luckless fourth behind Stellar Vista, Trade War and Kosta’s Crown and then tramped wide throughout when only 3.5L off Real Danger and Category Three. Back into a C1 and gets her chance. SPORTS TALK was a really good run first-up and looks more than capable of winning a C1 and C3 in the next few months. BIGIDEAS bombed the start and did a super job to somehow finish fourth last start. EMERALD TRADER was a big maiden win. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAMA TEMBU WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,5 2,9 1,4 1,2,3,6,8,10 Market Market
