Scott Embry’s Thursday Narrogin Preview Posted on November 19, 2024November 19, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 COVENTRY REEF gets his best chance yet in a Narrogin maiden handicap over 1900m. Finished a head off Sky God four back, finished less than 3L off True Player and Choice Thinking three back, sat wide throughout on Melb Cup Day at Bunbury and last Thursday at Bunbury was beaten 6L but in a maiden where they’ve stopped the clock 8L faster than average. Right time, right place. ROYAL TROOPER will keep whacking away. KNENTII can roll to the top. FULL OF LIFE gets Troy Turner back and he rides these tracks particularly well. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – COVENTRY REEF WIN RACE 2 EXTRA ZERO was popular in betting late at the Melbourne Cup Day meeting and then found trouble at the 800 and his race was over. Did finish third behind Cleanemup and North Face at Belmont as a 2 year old and wouldn’t need to be a star to be pinching this. TWELVEUNDER is E1 but if she can gain a start and reproduce her effort two back behind Southern Scandal in the same race as Sassyassa then she’s a chance. SASSYASSA was $26 into $5.50 on debut and now gets a set of blinkers on. MISSIJAY wasn’t horrible at trials and Paul Hunter has produced two double figure winners in the last fortnight. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – EXTRA ZERO WIN RACE 3 ZAC LUVS TO FLY and Zac also loves Narrogin. Won a 52+ 1190 in November 2023 by 1.5L and toyed with them and then finished second to Rockstar Status same track/distance two starts later. Chris Stelmach’s team is going really well (He’s Archie, Delta Anne, Belle Journee) and he should prove very hard to beat off a last start third, with the second horse Beautiful Baroque winning at Alban Saturday. BERRY BERRY GOOD is speedy and Boy Hill’s team is going very well too. KINGS FLIRT has found a nice drop in grade. ENSIGN PULVER probably wants a touch further. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ZAC LUVS TO FLY WIN RACE 4 SHAOLIN TEMPLE looks to have found his race. Finished off really well at York over 1920 last start in a 46+ and now finds an even thinner 46+ at Narrogin. Madi Derrick knows him well and with an uninterrupted run he looks hard to beat. LIEN HYPHEN is a long time maiden who is racing really well but just continually finding one or two better than here. She also now must lump 59kg. ASARKA was well commissioned at York which suggests he’s just about ready. SABINO is an unknown at the distance. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – SHAOLIN TEMPLE WIN RACE 5 GRACE ROSE is well placed by Neville Parnham and should find this a lot more to her liking. Resumed in a Westspeed Platinum beaten 3.5L by Ain’t No Other Man and Norich, beaten 3.5L second-up in a C1 by Play Dice (races Wednesday at Belmont) and most recently comes through a race behind Mai Aloha, Sunlit Fresco and Define Beautiful. Nice race for her. STORM LORD was huge last start sitting no better than three deep the trip. SEND IT SON loves these 46+ races. SPEEDY NOVA has the inside gate and a senior going on. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – GRACE ROSE WIN RACE 6 OCEAN OUTLAW has found his niche. He’s an outer provincial 46+/52+ type and Dylan Bairstow isn’t afraid to travel him. Beaten fair and square at Narrogin last start by Flick The Switch who ran an honest second at Albany Saturday to make the form look alright. SOARING SOLO can burn most of these off underneath her and look for the top. Forgive and forget last start. NORMA STARS hasn’t won a race for well over 1000 days but she’s a big improver into this grade. ROMMELS ANGEL is going well for her new trainer. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – OCEAN OUTLAW WIN RACE 7 DESERT SLEEVE has come of age this preparation. Maiden win at Moora followed up two starts later with a 46+ 1920m win at York. Ran over the top of Manhattan Jewel last start and only meets her 1kg worse. Can go on with it. MANHATTAN JEWEL is looking to turn the tables and should be able to roll forward into a commanding position. CHEROKEE MISS is racing consistently and holds a spot close handy. BLAISZEN CAZAH can be put into the race a fair way out. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – DESERT SLEEVE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,6,8 1,3,4 4,7,8,9 1,3 Market Market
