Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 20, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FORTUNE MAKER took the entire length of the home straight to run down Bella Scelta last start. Draws gate 1 to sit on her back and from there that should offset the 1kg he has to concede her from that run. Should be making it two in a line. BELLA SCELTA has been a great pick up for Gordon Spowart so far and the brave filly can run another big race. RUFUS was a big run last start. DYNAMITE JACK next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – FORTUNE MAKER WIN Race 2 BRUNY ISLAND should bounce straight to the top at his first start for a new stable and take some running down. Was only grabbed in the shadows on debut when leading, then beat home Magic Empire by 1.8L when runner up at his second career outing. MAGIC EMPIRE is a perennial maiden but looks to have found a nice race. Was a solid trial and no excuse from the draw. ASHBURN has hit form and Kyra Yuill is the inform regional rider at the minute. THE LADY MARY to improve. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BRUNY ISLAND WIN Race 3 COOL SERENITY looked like being a quality acquisition for the region having been competitive most of her career in town and inner provincial regions. Was given a great ride first-up and from the inside should box seat and make it two from two. HOT STYLE is a nice animal resuming. Natural back marker but has a powerful turn of foot when released. RECOILED has had his fair share of issues throughout his career but if an in-form Jodie Liakousis can get him right he’ll be winning races. BLACK DYNAMITE has raced without luck since joining Sarah Childs. This grade is really suitable for him. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – COOL SERENITY WIN Race 4 BAY PUBLISHER simply does not run a bad race. From the draw he’ll likely sit one out and one back and run his usual big race. Going extremely well at the minute and can lump weight. MIKIMOTO GIFT gets a rare opportunity to lead without pressure. If Bennett can find the top comfortably she’ll take running down. JUPITER RISING has come back bigger and better than last campaign. No knock on the grey. FREEZ’EMOFF is suited over further but can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – BAY PUBLISHER WIN Race 5 OSIPOVA was big in defeat last start. Worked around them midrace to take up the running and was only beaten up the inside in the final stride. They kicked over 6L away from the rest of the field and she should finally break her maiden status here. COCKY ED draws to sit leader’s back and hasn’t had much luck this campaign. MOONDYNE JOE and STUTONI next best but were no match for Osipova last start. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – OSIPOVA WIN Race 6 SCANDALOUS MISS should go close to making it two from two at Geraldton. Stepped up to 1200 last start on a day where the fence was not the place to be. Drops back to 1100, back up to Gero and should lead these comfortably. Can rebound. RED EPIC went close first-up and draws to go just as well, if not better. Box seats behind Scandalous Miss and can win. THE CROWN PRINCE trialed like a horse who would be winning a C1 very quickly in the season. LOOKUSOVER is an interesting new comer to the region and has ability. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – SCANDALOUS MISS EACHWAY Race 7 FULL STOKED drops from a C5 back into a 56+ and importantly has Troy Turner added to the saddle. Was eye catching first-up when blocked for a run at crucial stages and then not overly suited in the breeze last time out. Better with a sit and from the gate should settle midfield. CAN HE HUSSEL has come back to racing well and is the obvious danger. Can slide forward to sit in the breeze or even cross to the fence. GALAXY BLAZE normally puts in a run fresh. ROCK MYLADY is hard to catch, prefer when Turner is on. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – FULLY STOKED WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5 5 1,3,7,9 1,4 Market Market
