Scott Embry’s Thursday Ascot Preview Posted on November 2, 2022November 2, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RESTFUL will look to continue the recent run for Adam Durrant and Peters Investments (Treasured Star, Rare Encounter (x2) and Real Danger) all winning within the last fortnight or so. Comes through a strong enough form maiden and should get a nice midfield run. Ready to win. OCEAN AURA and OPTIMAL come through the exact same maiden and you can easily mount a case for the pair to finish in the money. Think this might be a midfield swooping kind of race. FAST THINKING is set a task on debut at 1600m but Luke Fernie’s producing plenty of winners at the moment. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – RESTFUL WIN RACE 2 JURUENA GOLD did a good job to stay on his feet last start, let alone finish off powerfully through traffic to pinch second. That is the same form race (Royal Elite) as Restful, Optimal and Ocean Aura in Race 1 and expecting it will hold up on Thursday. Looks the obvious horse to beat but this race is pretty deep. Think it’ll be a great form race going forward. BONJOY has been huge in two runs to date. If it’s three deep swooping it brings her right into the mix. Legitimate danger and won’t be a maiden long. SANTA BRAE was impressive on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind a talented filly. ROCKON MOLLY drops back into a maiden and has ability. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – JURUENA GOLD WIN RACE 3 ADMIRATION EXPRESS and FASHION STAKES are likely to dominate this market. ADMIRATION EXPRESS flashed home on debut behind Upper Limits in a race which has been highly popular with punters and then finished second to My Bella Mae. Think that filly is well and truly above average so that’s the form line we’ll follow. Looks a versatile filly and a talented filly. FASHION STAKES loomed the winner first-up and was only run down late by Rare Encounter. With that mare winning again on Tuesday in a C1 in dominant fashion she’ll be hard to beat here. WOZZECK should improve into maiden company. LUCKY SUE has flashed ability. Numbers: 12 – 11 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – ADMIRATION EXPRESS WIN Same Race Multi – Admiration Express (Top 2) + Fashion Stakes (Top 2) RACE 4 STAR POWER trialled particularly well under Luke Campbell leading into her return to racing. She was beaten a margin into second first-up in a 1000m maiden at Northam by Wild Belle who has since won a C1 by over 1.5L and stamped herself as an X-Factor runner for the Placid Ark Stakes. There’s no Wild Belle’s in this. DEETEA had three starts as a 2 year old and was excellent. The wide barrier makes things tough but she’s got upside. PRINSESSA ANJA has only had 400m jump outs but she looks sharp. TROPICAL SUN has a booming L600. But couldn’t go with them early as a juvenile. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 14 – 10 Suggested Bet – STAR POWER WIN Race 5 DREAM EVIL has a short, sharp turn of foot which brings her into races like this. Got no luck when resuming and was forced to tramp deep throughout. Senior rider on, tucked away behind a genuine tempo (Under The Radar, All Metal, Belle’s Fantasy, Men’s Club) and can be dangerous slate. ALL METAL is going undeniably well this campaign. Lead and won at Belmont Park beating handy filly Tiffany Street and then two starts ago was off the track throughout in a forgive run. Beaten a lip last start and can settle over the speed here. MEN’S CLUB made his Ash Maley debut at Northam without a trial. Was firm in betting and only peaked on the run late. Should only improve for the outing. LIFE FOR A LIFE arguably should have won a race or two last preparation when luckless on multiple occasions. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DREAM EVIL EACHWAY RACE 6 DEMOLISH won a maiden at Northam holding out the fast-finishing effort of Playhouse Patron and then was backed into favourite in a 3 year old 0MWLY at his most recent. Trialled super, dislodged the rider first-up, winner second-up and an encouraging third behind Sesswa and Missile Storm. 1600 back to 1400m, 3 year old 0MWLY back to C1. Plenty to like. LINDEN LADY broke her maiden like a filly who would be winning more races. Is tactically versatile and has the gate speed to navigate a tricky draw. NIGHT SHIFT was a huge winner last start off the back of a hot tempo. SEE YA CHAMP can put in a flashing light run from time to time. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – DEMOLISH WIN RACE 7 YANGTZE RAPIDS got absolutely no luck at Geraldton at his return to racing. He was travelling up nicely behind horses and unfortunately for Brandon Louis everywhere he went he found traffic. Never got a crack at them until the last 50m when the race was all over. Senior rider on, can bounce back. HALATORION won’t get a better opportunity than this. He can park on the back of Yeman Lass who will take him into the corner. DENIM PACK was good last start in a 72+. Back into a Class 5 and after the claim is well weighted. CELEVACCI has become a little one paced since a big fresh run. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – YANGTZE RAPIDS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 9,11,14 FD 4,10 1,2,4,6,7 Market Market
