Warren Huntly’s Thursday Flemington Preview Posted on November 2, 2022November 2, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 MATRON BULLWINKEL didn’t have much luck first up and has plenty of upside. ARKTIKA won well last start and looks an obvious danger. SAVAGEL closed off well last start and looks suited on a big track. CABACA looks suited back in trip. Selections: 7,1,11,14 Suggested Bet: Matron Bullwinkel each way Race 2 Plenty to learn with the unraced. EMPRESS OF WONDER and her stablemate LINDELAGO have both trialled quite well. CHARM STONE has straight track experience and ran well on debut. She’s jumped out nicely since. HELL QUEEN had little luck on debut. HARLEEN looked good winning at Murray Bridge on debut. Most debutantes have shown something. Selections: 2,12,5,14 Suggested Bet: Look and learn Race 3 CLIMBING STAR has looked an emerging talent at both her runs to date, an improving track would enhance her chances. ROOTS looks a strong danger, she’s been well placed of late but her early form was that of a classy filly. ROCHA CLOCK will strip fitter and drops significantly in class. FORTUNATE KISS has raced without much luck in stronger races and is due for a change of fortune. Selections: 12,8,6,5 Suggested Bet: Working around 12 & 8 Race 4 Competitive race complicated by the fact the emergencies could play a major role. RUNNING BY was luckless at Moonee Valley and 1400m looks suitable. SWEETENED has been racing without luck since an impressive maiden victory and also looks suited at 1400m. GREY RIVER has been winning well in SA. BIRDIES GALORE will strip fitter for a good return and will appreciate the step up in distance. Selections: 20,19,12,5 Suggested Bet: Running By and/or Sweetened each way if they gain a start Race 5 SAINT BATHANS got the right run last start but his form here has been close to faultless. SHIBLI had no luck first up and has been scratched on numerous occasions since then DOUCEUR is testing the patience but has the talent to win. RIGHT YOU ARE ran well first up and the extra distance suits. Selections: 12,13,9,14 Suggested Bet: Saint Bathans each way Race 6 JOYFUL FORTUNE impressed winning down the straight two runs back and held on ok in The Everest. KALLOS is in good form and handles the straight well. ATHELRIC was below expectations last time but comes through the right form lines. ASHFORD STREET is fit and racing consistently, he also handles the straight ok. ZOUSTYLE will give a sight. Selections: 5,1,4,8 Suggested Bet: Joyful Fortune to win Race 7 Great race with plenty of hopes. CORONA LAD should be ready to peak and his lead up form has been solid. ATOMIC GOLD must have a hope through Corona Lad. MAXIMUS PRIME won his heat in good style first up and will strip fitter. REALEZA was an eye catcher on an unsuitably tight track last start. MY ROCK ALY, BOOKMAN, DROP THE MIC all have claims. Hard to put a pen through many as they had to be in form to qualify. Selections: 13,1,11,4 Suggested Bet: Corona Lad each way Race 8 The form through the Spring Champion Stakes has help up well and SHE’S EXTREME was an unlucky runner in that race. Synthetic hoof filler going on is not an ideal gear change, but she has the profile of the classy filly that can exert her superiority over her rivals in an Oaks. ZENNZELLA won a high pressure Wakeful last Saturday, giving the impression she will cope with 2500m. QUEEN AIR was the late closer in that race, she’s had plenty of racing lately, but also looks suited at 2500m. RENAISSANCE WOMAN won well two starts back and was solid in the Spring Champion last start. PAVITRA and FOXY CLEOPATRA are in the mix. Selections: 1,2,8,3 Suggested Bet: She’s Extreme to win Race 9 GREECE looked outstanding winning last start, she’s been scratched on more than one occasion since and has real upside. OJAI has been racing without much luck of late. I’MLOVIN’YA has been freshened and will be strong late. SHE DANCES had excuses last start and is another with upside. LA DANSEUSE ROUGE, BAY THIRTEEN, ENGLISH RIVIERA, LADY LAGUNA and BOUND FOR HOME all have some claims. Selections: 18,9,11,13 Suggested Bet: Greece to win Market Market
