Scott Embry’s Thursday Ascot Preview Posted on December 4, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HOLY GHOST returns to the races as a 3 year old after a successful initial campaign as a 2 year old. Lead on debut and was run down by the narrowest of margins. Went to a tougher race and finished third to Snippy Miss and Gotta Motor when tramping deep the trip. Last start was shin sore. Trial was strong and draws a handy alley. LITTLE MISS PRO has done nothing wrong in two starts. LA VINA trialed well enough to impact on debut. LEAD GUITAR should get all the favours from the inside alley. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – HOLY GHOST WIN Race 2 THE HONEYMAN has always shown glimpses of ability but races naturally worse than midfield. For the first time in his life he sees a track which could well suit those off speed and tracking up three deep. Could get under the radar and give this a shake at a price. BEJUNJAR ran a big race last start behind a very good animal in Levitate. Should position up well from the draw. GRANITA GIRL was beaten a long way last start at Northam but sectionally actual ran quite well. RUNBABE consistent type. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – THE HONEYMAN EACHWAY Race 3 THE DIVINE WIND is a 26 start maiden with only 5 placings to his name but this is as good an opportunity as he will get. Very weak maiden and from the draw he should be afforded every favour in running. AHYOKA FROST is a 16 start maiden but looks the danger. Strong effort from well off them last time out. LAMBEK travels well in the run but doesn’t offer a lot once out. ROSSITER BAY has run a pair of fourth placings in tougher races than this and can definitely win. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – THE DIVINE WIND WIN Race 4 IT’S TIFF’S trialed really well in June and then really gave nothing on debut. Was sent up the Pinjarra straight and looked all at sea. Tipped out for a spell and now the return trial has again been impressive. Head gear comes off and she gets another chance. MOORUMBINE might just have run into a couple of sharp ones at trials in Playing Red and Queen of Soul. Trial was handy. SUPER TEROITOA deserves to break a maiden. Good effort at Narrogin first-up. MAJESTIC HUNTER has trialed well in the blinkers and looks tractable. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – IT’S TIFFS WIN Race 5 FIRST BLACK has some staying ability but can mix her form and seems to lose interest if she isn’t tracking into the race at the 800. Lucy Warwick seems to get along well with her and this C3 is no harder than her last C1. DEEP PURPLE kept on fighting last time out when working in the breeze. APPARITION has been ridden very cold of recent times and now gets out to a staying trip for the first time. ABELDANE wins one leading from start to finish soon but hard to keep following up. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – FIRST BLACK WIN Race 6 TO RISE AGAIN should spear across from an outside alley and take serious beating first-up. There is speed drawn inside him with Flower of Scotland and Ice Maker both loving to run but last preparation he won an Ascot 3yo 62+ beating Son of Bacchus and Deacalda. Should be too strong. STIRLING ESTATE loves the 1000m and races particularly well when he can draw a gate. LIDO BEACH a huge danger if he starts but could be scratched to run Saturday. TRANSGRESSOR has done nothing wrong of recent times. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – TO RISE AGAIN WIN Race 7 ADVOCATOR was not her usual consistent self first-up but didn’t really get the best of luck. Was given a peach by McNaught last start and ran well. Draws wide here but expecting that three deep with cover will be the place to be. DIAPARA is going well and bursting to win another race. PLAYING WITH GOD was a similar run to Advocator in the same race last time out. SAFETY BAY jumps up sharply in trip but has a turn of foot. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – ADVOCATOR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,5,6,10 1,2,4,5,6 2,3,6,8 5,6,7,8,9 Market Market
