Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on December 2, 2025December 2, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FLAG HIGH comes through a metro maiden when beaten 3L behind Nintymilestraight, Awesome Force and handy 3 year old Radiant Light. Ninetymilestraight has come out in a Lee Steere Stakes and finished second to undefeated star Hot and High and so dropping 2.5kg into a country maiden does catch the attention for this filly. SEA OF GALILEE has had the four starts in WA since coming across from over East and the most recent 7 days ago was the best to date. ARAFISIO is a long (long) time maiden but ran really well at odds last week. BAGGER PRINCE gets out to a distance where he can lead and expect that sees him improve sharply. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – FLAG HIGH WIN RACE 2 VALID POINT had one start as a 3 year old at Northam when beaten a long way at a massive price behind Simply Royalty, Nicciana and Lavish Charm. Trialled well at Lark Hill when winning his 950m trial and with a set of winkers on and Wolfey’s #1 hoop booked to ride we’ll follow up on the trial. NO COMEBACKS went around nearly 40-1 on debut but wasn’t disgraced behind Queswtioneverything and American Que Tee in what is probably the strongest of the maiden form reference races. LADY COCO has the speed to sit right on close handy if they elect to use the barrier to advantage. Fought on quite well last week after covering ground. TAPITLIKEITSSASSY is quick but tends to paddle late. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – VALID POINT WIN RACE 3 ENDLESS JOY finished off well behind Bentley Beau and Mystical Man at Gero last time out and looks ready to win now. Worth remembering that: 1) both career wins are with Tash Faithfull aboard; and 2) her last win was a C2 1900 at Albany when powering clear late. Doesn’t seem to get warm until mid-prep over ground and that’s this time of her prep. WHY ME looks to have found the most winnable race of his preparation to date. Has been far better at his last two over a mile and that should put him in good stead to back-up off 7 days and get out to a 1900m. One paced type. INTO THE FUTURE only won a battlers maiden two back but wasn’t too bad behind Neap Tide in a C1 at Bunbury 7 days later. Has done plenty of racing in a short period but can roll to the top here. NICCYS AFFAIR couldn’t reproduce last week. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ENDLESS JOY WIN RACE 4 RECONNAISSANCE went to a 1200m maiden at Bunbury on Melbourne Cup Day and bolted in by over 2L in a sizzling time, 7L faster than maiden average. The win was so strong that Darren McAuliffe didn’t hesitate to throw him straight into a 60+ Graduation and the punters showed him plenty of respect, sending him out under $5 against the older horses. He’s now into a 58+ at Albany and drops 1.5kg. Still think he’s a nice horse. KING CARTEL is a last start winner dropping back in grade. Aggressively placed (love) but does rise 7.5kg start to start. DE GRANDHOMME is enjoying being travelled to the country tracks and is proven at this level. SECRET STONES has returned in good order and is on the back-up. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – RECONNAISSANCE WIN RACE 5 LATE ARRIVAL was scratched from Sunday’s Grandstand Cup to save for this 70+ 1500 at Albany. Arrived in WA with three straight wins, including a 0MWLY 1400 and then was placed to Dennis Choux in a 60+ Graduation, beating hoe Forever Boy. Loved his last start run and looks to be screaming out for the trip now. COLD SHIZZLE went around in an RJ Peters 19 days ago. Group 3 to c70+. Rare areas. GIFT OF THE HEART bounced back in a big way last weekend. Beaten nearly 7L first-up at 1100m and then 12 days later won at 1200m by 1L. He’s a talent when Roy Rogers has him right. THE SPRUIKER was a great run fresh at 1000m and then was only beaten 2L at Ascot behind Bartime. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – LATE ARRIVAL WIN RACE 6 ROUNDABOUT GLORY is a maiden 1100m winner and a C1 11100m winner but there have been a few runs here and there which ould see him hard to beat in this. He finished 3L off Rocket Juice/Another Strike/Our Rocky Bay at Ascot in a 0MWLY, he finished second to Justamiddy in a C5 1600 at Albany on Bluff Knoll Day and think this is winnable for him, especially with the luxurious 2kg claim for Holly Nottle who has a big book Thursday. Very soft race. MISTER POPCORN has never won below 2200m and yet first-up at 1500m last week ran a ripper behind Fight In Flight. Does he have the sprint in his legs 7 days later? PETITE VITESSE is going along alright and just got a mile out of her ground at Esperance on Opening Day. COATACHINO is ticking along quite well and has no weight. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – ROUNDABOUT GLORY WIN RACE 7 QUESTIONEVERYTHING looks a big, awkward horse who will just keep improving with race day experience. Thins is a nice stepping stone for him to go from a maiden in a C2 and expect that Tash Faithfull will kick him out and keep him in clear galloping room. Travels really strongly and has a big stride. BONNY ROCK won by the length of the straight at Narrogin a fortnight ago. Horses can do that at Narrogin so always a little wary on whether they can reproduce. OUR EXISTENCE ran into progressive types Lanfranco and Auto Cruise last start at Belmont. Finds this naturally easier. AMARLIE MISS charged home behind Battle On Battler at Geraldton last start. May be looking for 1400 rather than 1200? Numbers: 4 – 8 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – QUESTIONEVERYTHING WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) Race 4 – 1,2,8 Race 5 – 2,3,6 Race 6 – 1,2,3,9 Race 7 – 4,8 Market Market
