Scott Embry’s Sunday Laverton Preview Posted on October 24, 2025October 24, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BLOWIN’ SMOKE beat home CASINO ROYALE when they met in a 1200m maiden at Leonora to kick off this three week Eastern Goldfields Festival of Racing. From that encounter he actually meets him 3kg better at the weights as well after the Bailey Webster claim so happy to follow him up. CASINO ROYALE finally broke through at start number 16 and gave Mollie Clark yet another winner as the undisputed Queen on Leinster. JIMMY SEVEN surprised everyone at Moora with a win as the $15 outsider. LENNOX LASS is struggling and looks destined for the $616 fourth placed cheque. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – BLOWIN’ SMOKE WIN RACE 2 INSPIRATIONAL MAC has his first start for John Reynolds who has three of the four runners in the race. He had three starts for Michael Lane on the grass, beaten 9L Bosisto, beaten 4.7L Karsavina and beaten 10L at Albany. It’s awful race form but he’s probably the best of these? BATTLE SHOTS has had 15 starts and never run a placing but at least she’s had a few 1400m runs and they’ve arguably been her best. SOLARIS GLOW leads but can she run the distance? ORANTORIO ROSE put in her career best effort last week – beaten 7L. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – INSPIRATIONAL MAC WIN RACE 3 SCOTTISH LAIRD won a 58+ at Kalgoorlie and then placed to High Pressure in a 70+ before heading onto the Kambalda Cup. Went around at the closing meeting at Kalgoorlie last Sunday and didn’t beat a runner home but this is lengths easier than anything he has contested over the last 6 months. Just needs to handle the surface. ROEY CLAM comes through the Leonora and Leinster Sprints and was back to his best last week. 1 from 1 undefeated at Laverton is a big plus. FORTUNE’S LUCK is still finding her dirt feet. Leinster doesn’t suit leaders so be forgiving of her beaten favourite performance last week. OUR KIWI PRINCESS looks like she wants a rest. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – SCOTTISH LAIRD WIN RACE 4 IMA WILD GIRL finished third to Dublin Red in the Leonora Sprint and then third to Roey Clam last week in the Leinster Sprint. Drops from the 63+ grade back into 56+ grade and this looks a great chance for her to return to the winner’s circle. LE TROY landed outstanding bets last week. $7 into $2.15 in a four horse race and won by nearly 5L. Well played to those who found him and good luck has he looks to go back to back in a pretty thin race. URBAN WARRIOR is an enigma. Who knows if you’ll get the Leonora version or the Leinster version. FAST JOHN won the Class B Trophy Race at Leonora. This is 5L tougher. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – IMA WILD GIRL WIN RACE 5 BERRY BERRY GOOD toyed with them down the straight at Leinster and won by over 3L against three of his five rivals here. Gets out to 1200m which is probably about on his limit but still looks hard to beat. He’ll settle just off speed so the outside barrier is a plus for him. HOOCHIE GUCCI has finally found a bit of form with back to back runner-up performances. Went very close to undoing the fairytale Time To Thunder story last weekend at Leinster and this race is arguably thinner on paper. Only query – back to 1200. SHASFA is a 1000m mare. KELLY’S LI ZA LU is the most talented horse but she’s horribly out of form. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BERRY BERRY GOOD WIN RACE 6 BOAB BOY was sent out a $1.30 favourite last week in the Leinster Cup and led them (understandably) but that’s not how races are won on that track. Each and every year they start swooping from the 600 and momentum is key, the fence is just no good. Off to Laverton and happy to lock him in to bounce back. GOT LUCKY won the Mt Magnet Cup, missed the Leonora Cup and then nearly won the Leinster Cup. He’s a previous Laverton Cup winner and is back to his best. DANCING JACK won the Cup last week at Leinster and was the beneficiary of the rider who rode the track the best. Can win again. HIS EMINENCE hasn’t been seen since Toodyay. Scratched at the last two meetings = issues. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – BOAB BOY WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,3 1,2 1,5 1,2 Market Market
