Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 18, 2024October 18, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 NO WHISPERING and ONEMOREFORLEO come through the same last five races as each other and there hasn’t been much between them on those respective occasions. Happy to keep siding up with NO WHISPERING who is tough, on speed and hopefully holds out Yes of Course early and finds the fence again. ONEMOREFORLEO loomed large in the race last start before Lucky Lily burst through and got them both. Logical danger. DANCING JACK and FLOPPY next pair but a fair way off the top two. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – NO WHISPERING WIN RACE 2 KIMBERLEY ROSE went around favourite on debut off a hot trial as a 2 year old back in March and won another barrier trial at Lark Hill in September leading into this preparation. Fair to say she’s not lived up to the hype at the races and now finds herself in an all age Kalgoorlie maiden. Going to speculate on the float trip and the massive drop in class being the key for her. She’s better than she’s showing. IFFUBLUSH went under as favourite in the opening race on Cup Day and in review was a backmarker on a heavy leaders day. Forgive. JET PLANES ran well enough on debut over shorter. DE ZANE GREY has tried hard all season. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – KIMBERLEY ROSE WIN RACE 3 ZING TO WIN nearly won the $100,000 Ron Sayers Memorial Sprint at 66+ grade on Cup Day. He has been flying all season and with the acceptance of stablemate Can’t Be Done he looks extremely well weighted and placed and suited with only 56kg on his back. Main dangers are Can’t Be Done (beat him by 5.6L) and Baalbek (beat him by 7.6L) and looks very hard to beat. BAALBEK did it tough in that race and never got across. If Lucy Fiore crosses to the fence it’s a different scenario here. CAN’T BE DONE is classy and a nice use of the 3kg claim. LOVE DRUNK BABY could run out a MR Peter Fernie Quartet. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ZING TO WIN TO WIN RACE 4 RULING DAME went around in the Westspeed Platinum on Cup Day and finished second behind Full OF Merit. Prior to that had been drawing woeful barriers – previous four starts: 9/13, 13/14, 10/13 & 11/11 and was being left out of the contest or wide on the track (or both). Looks mapped to get every chance here. PLEASE MIZTER still has plenty to learn but has upside and regardless of the fact he rises 200m and 4kg in weight off his maiden win he’ll have followers. SERVICEMAN and ELSUENO can mix their form but both have run cheeky races on occasion in the region. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – RULING DAME WIN RACE 5 TOP FUN finished third behind winning machine Secret Style, second behind subsequent winner Lucky Lily and then was only 2.2L off Laquetta’s Gift and Eevalina in a 60+ Graduation on Cup Day. Racing well, back into a C2 and maps to get every chance close handy. Ready to win. SCIENCE DEGREE broke his maiden by 4.5L at $1.35 and looked like a horse who could make his way through the lower grades in Kalgoorlie. FIENDISH has been a hard horse to follow for 18 months but continues to find the line at odds. STYLE DIVA won well on debut back in May and returns without a trial. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – TOP FUN WIN RACE 6 SECRET ATTRIRE was first-up, no trial into the 58+ 1200 on Hannans Handicap Day and won soft. 3 days later the runner-up Eevalina was backed from $4.80 into $3.10 and nearly won a 60+ Graduation making the form look strong. Maps to get an identical run here second-up and has simply been a different mare since arriving on the Goldfields. DREAMERS NEVER DIE was a brave win sitting three deep the trip under 59.5kg last start. BLUE CAN TALK meets Secret Attire 5kg better for a 2.6L margin last start. HIDDEN RUBY is always hard to beat in this grade. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – SECRET ATTIRE WIN RACE 7 FLOBA comes through the Secret Attire race and if she was to further frank that form in Race 6 then he will look even better going into Race 7. He’s drawn the inside gate, he can lead or box seat and he has been meeting with support in betting since transferring across to Brett Drury. Gets his chance here. DUBLIN RED was a ‘be on me next start’ effort in the Dreamers Never Die race. TWIST OF GOLD is an 1100m horse. She’s fast but she paddles late. BLITZEM BABE was a great return to racing and again has no weight on her back. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – FLOBA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2 2,3,4,5,7,8 3,4 2,4,5,7,8 Market Market
