Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 7, 2020August 7, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ESCALATING has been beaten at $4.00, $2.25, $4.50, $3.00, $4.25 and $2.50 since joining MR Peter Fernie so huge risk jumping into him again but this is a moderate field and Pateman should find the front. Best rider, best yard but limited horse. Gets his chance (again). HUSSTARR is closing in very rapidly on a maiden win and there is nothing to suggest it can’t be here. SPIRITED LAD was doing his best late and has showed a level of ability. DAWN ENIGMA trials like a horse with ability but isn’t showing up at the races. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ESCALATING WIN RACE 2 DO YOUR BEST is knocking on the door and looks a second leader in two races who should be very hard to run down. Not a lot between the top four or five but Kyra Yuill finding the front looks like getting the best run. DEVINE BEAST is a newly turned 3 year old taking on the older horses. Nice placement and gets in with a fly weight. NAUGHTY THOUGHTIES has Chris Parnham on that’s worth lengths anywhere in WA. Expecting him to ride a stack of winners in the next 3 months. CAVALLER ran well last start at a price. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – DO YOUR BEST WIN RACE 3 NEMIROFF has gone to a new level this preparation and is really starting to fulfil the potential we saw in the Metro area in his 3 year old days. Month between runs, kept fresh and can position up outside the other speedster in Bos Taurus and if he finds that position he should prove just a little too classy. EXCARO 2 months between runs with a soft draw is always a dangerous proposition. Hugely talented mare. WATTO’S FURY continues to go round over the odds and continues to win. How can you knock him? BOS TAURUS can be hard to catch if he leads. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – NEMIROFF WIN RACE 4 REVEL is no star but the kind of horse who can go through the grades in Kalgoorlie. From the draw he can hold a position in running and seems to run for Mitch Pateman. Overcame big traffic two starts ago to score. PRINCE OF PROMISES if he finds the front will take some serious running down. Big effort first start this preparation. HERRON SAND was disappointing last start but the stable can improve them sharply. MOORUMBINE should box seat. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – REVEL WIN RACE 5 MAGIC WILL REIGN has been a finger burner at his last two but equally as been incredibly impressive and eye catching in defeat. His last 100m last start was enormous but that being said from the draw and back in trip is again going to need luck or a peach from the returning King of Kal. TRAMIKA has the form to his name after his most recent. The two horses in front of him have made the form look excellent. THISORTHAT has been putting in black book efforts for the last few months. Honest type. AMILLIONITE gets the gun run and when she does she’s a winning chance. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WILL REIGN WIN RACE 6 SLUICE BOX could be one outside the box and it looks like Chris Parnham is in town to ride him. Fresh run 7 weeks between outings with weight over 1400 was huge and then he was able to overcome a tough map, conditions and a huge drift to score impressively over Magic Will Reign. Stepping up in trip again and looks like he’ll keep going through the grades. CUBAN TWIST is a tough mare to get past and should find the front relatively soft. SIGIL and MAJOR MAMBO are both consistent and map well respectively. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SLUICE BOX WIN RACE 7 PALMA MERENTI back in grade looks to have found a suitable race. Needs a barrier to be smothered up midfield and gets those conditions here. Always goes round at an eachway quote and since joining Brian Curtis’ yard is yet to run a bad race. STARALIGN is in hot form and MR Peter Fernie could have trained the card up to this point without surprising. GLUTEN FREE was a shade disappointing last time out but willing to forgive. ANOTHER DEMON was supported late in betting last start and didn’t get the best of runs. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – PALMA MERENTI EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,8,9 1,2,3,8 3,5 1,2,5,7 Market Market
