The Scout: NBA Best Bets

LA Clippers vs Portland Trail Blazers

The Clippers have been up and down in the bubble, clearly using these seeding games as a chance to gear up for the playoffs, while maintaining a healthy roster.

Portland are one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the restart, going 3-1 as they look to climb into the top eight of the Western Conference.

Damian Lillard has put the Blazers on his back in the bubble. Last match he went for 45 points and 12 assists in a win over Boston, tying the franchise record of 11 made 3-pointers in a game.

Beverley and Harrell are likely out for LA; Beverley’s absence in particular is a huge plus for Lillard. I think this game will be close, but ultimately Portland have more to lose, giving them the edge.

Suggested Bet: Portland (Head To Head) @ $2.40*

Phoenix Suns vs Miami Heat

Phoenix are unbeaten in the NBA bubble, but are still three games behind the 8th seed Memphis.

Miami have slipped to a 2-2 record after blowing a big lead against the Bucks. It was a worrying sign as the Heat struggled to find baskets when they needed them down the stretch.

Devin Booker (26ppg) and Deandre Ayton (18ppg) have become a deadly duo, with Ayton growing in confidence every game.

The Heat will again be without Jimmy Butler for this matchup. He is their best perimeter defender, and would have had the job on Booker. His leadership in the closing stages was sorely missed against the Bucks, and I think that will be evident again here.

Suggested Bet: Phoenix (Head To Head) @ $2.08*

Utah Jazz vs Denver Nuggets

The Jazz have gone 2-2 since the restart, giving up a worrying 111 points per game.

The Nuggets have also split their first four games but can climb to second in the West with a win here.

Before the NBA was suspended, the Nuggets were struggling offensively, ranking 18th in the NBA for points per contest. In the last four game this average has climbed to 118, largely off the back of Michael Porter Jr who has scored 56 points in his last two games.

Utah are known for their defense, but they haven’t been able to slow the opposition in this new stage of the season. I think they’ll have their hands full here and ultimately come up short against the rejuvenated Nuggets.

Suggested Bet: Denver (Head To Head)
