Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 12, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ESCALATING really seemed to appreciate being allowed to roll along last week and expecting Mitch Pateman to adopt similar tactics. Hasn’t been the greatest of starts to the season for the former King of Kal but here’s hoping after saluting on Smarty that he has turned a corner. DREAMY ALICE was heavily commissioned in the same event. Expecting another improved performance out of her. COCKY ED missed that run and comes into this on the fresh side. HUSSTARR didn’t fire first-up. Form when last in work was good enough to figure. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ESCALATING WIN RACE 2 BRIGHT GLOW could well be back to back favourites and great chances for Pateman as he again pilots the former Yulong horse. First-up was $5 into $1.60 and was unable to reel in stablemate Fishy. Nothing stronger in this field and he should realistically be very hard to beat. DAVEEDO ran a better race that it will read on paper and off the 7 days is a definite improver. SCENE TO SIN showed glimpses at trials and Josh Brown will be hungry for a winner on a day that looks All Aboute Fernie on paper. FIRST STRIKE continually knocking on the door. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BRIGHT GLOW WIN RACE 3 WOCKNWOLL was an alarming drifter last weekend and then had absolutely no luck at all. Kyra Yuill had her most quiet day in the saddle for 12 months last Sunday and this is a perfect opportunity to bounce straight back at Kal. GLIMMER GIRL is flying and no reason why she can’t continue through into 70+ grade successfully. PARADISE SQUARE gets weight relief with the claim but still set a test. STRATOCREED transfers to Joanne Forrest and the form in the metro area is strong. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN RACE 4 DIRTY DOT gets one more chance. Blinkers go on for the first time in her career and with an apprentice on we can expect a little more aggression from the machine in an attempt to race on pace after she has been ridden with a sit in her last couple. Form around Tajmali early in the prep super. SHE’SAPOCKET ROCKET has strong Albany form. Always differing views whether the Kal or Albany form is stronger but Earl O’Loughlin wouldn’t travel to Kalgoorlie if he didn’t think his mare could win. LITTLE HERCULES needs to draw soft to do no work and again gets conditions to suit. MOONLIGHT’S REWARD is going well and with a clean getaway lobs a lovely spot. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DIRTY DOT WIN RACE 5 CONCRETE MADAME looked like she needed the run fresh. Was able to control the tempo and then had no answers for Hayan Lad who went straight past her. Second-up should only be improved having not been to trials and settling in the first few in running she gets her chance on what could be a big day for MR Peter Fernie and Mitch Pateman. ABSOLUTE is a new comer who brings intrigue. Has BM70 and BM78 Victorian form which should make him hard to beat. UNIKAT can be hit and miss but if he is right he runs a big race. BEETHOVEN ran a reasonable enough race at his first Kal start. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – CONCRETE MADAME WIN RACE 6 PASTRY simply picks herself on current form. Second to Nemiroff four starts ago, third to Tajmali three starts ago (beating home Sigil) and then third in the Sky Final in Perth before running fourth in the Northam Traders. Back to Kal, drawn a gate, super hard to beat. DALGARANGA had no luck at all last week. Missed the kick and then never got into the race until it was all over. Going incredibly well for the new yard. PROZONE has put in three very strong runs for Cliff Smith and no reason he can’t figure in the finish again. BOOMA LACKA is probably the best ride that Hannah Fitzgerald has had since getting her license. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – PASTRY WIN RACE 7 NORD AVENIR has been in a purple patch of form for months now. Never runs a bad race and if she can step cleanly she should fall into a winnable position. Backing up off 7 days and gets in with a winnable weight for Victoria Corver, who is riding her well. RAPID EYE MOVEMENT looked a moral on paper last start and got the blows late in betting. Duly saluted and no reason she can’t win again. CUBAN TWIST comes to Kalgoorlie after a successful start to the preparation in the provincial area. SOULSANA was impressive behind Uncle Dick last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – NORD AVENIR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5,8 3,4 2,3 1,2,5,6,8 Market Market
