Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on September 14, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HAPPY HARRY is flying. His form jumps off the page having defeated Presentatie who was narrowly defeated in town last weekend and subsequent local winner A Bit Sketchy. Wins again on his way to the Hannans where he is far from hopeless. SENORITA BONITA simply doesn’t run a bad race and can never be completely discounted. MERVYN is a revelation, shooting for his 5th win for connections after being labeled a non-winner. Has well and truly shaken that tag. TENTERDEN is classy enough but suspect at 1200m. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – HAPPY HARRY WIN Race 2 INDRIEL backs up after being uncharacteristically beaten for speed over 1200m. Loves the quick turnaround, 1100m and Emma Allen has had success with the mare previously. ANOTHER DEMON got the better of Indriel last time they met. He is class and there is no reason he can’t do it again. PALMA MERENTI was a much better run than it appears on paper. Can improve sharply. BOS TAURUS looks to be going below his best, but you must respect his best form and drops back in grade. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – INDRIEL WIN Race 3 DISNY will not get a better chance at winning a race. Has returned to racing well enough and with blinkers and Hall on ticks the most boxes in a moderate maiden. SMARTY was beaten a fair way in a recent barrier trial but looked to be doing it comfortably. Has a task in front of her from the outside gate on debut. ORADALES IMAGE leads and kicks around the bend and is sure to have plenty of admirers. LEVESQUE wasn’t disgrace on debut and the Frenchman jumping on can find another length. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DISNY WIN Race 4 BEVEL has been eye catching since returning from a let up and bursting to win a race. Drawn off the fence today, if Autier can find the back of Hilbert and get towed into the straight he gets his chance. HILBERT is going brilliantly and gains the services of Garth Hall’s little brother Peter. The Cups King replaces the Kalgoorlie King who heads to Albany to lift home the mighty Tigers in the GSFL Grand Final. PARADISE SQUARE has returned strongly this preparation and looks in this up to his eyeballs. CHANTEGO STAR runs them along and Randy Tan is a suitable match to her racing pattern. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BEVEL WIN Race 5 ROJO CALOR endured a horror run throughout in the Coolgardie Cup. Was hampered near the 800 and then never got a crack at them in the home straight. Looks the leader here and from there is hard to run past. INJECT THE VENOM looked the winner when rolled late by Decoy Noxious. Expect him to settle on the back of his stable mate from the inside draw. DECOY NOXIOUS was backed confidently and the punters who sniped $21 were treated to a patient and stylish ride from Kokotajlo. SPIRITUAL WARRIOR looks a nice stayer in the making. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – ROJO CALOR WIN Race 6 ASTROPHOBIA faces the task of having to win first start out of maiden grade but he appears talented enough to test that stigma. Likely to get the right run from the good gate. CLOAK AND DAGGER could be veteran trainer George Grljusich’s 5th winner from only his 10th starter this season. Quite a remarkable achievement. He is really hitting them out the middle. YOU AM I has some quality form and his best is good enough. He’ll win plenty if he ends up residing at Cambana Lodge. NOBEL SUSPECT is much better suited here than his most recent assignment. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ASTROPHOBIA WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,6,10 2,3,6 1,2,3,5,8 2,3,4 Market Market
