Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 27, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SILVER CLOUD THREE has had his fair share of chances to break through but should either lead them up or just see him sit behind the speed and get every chance from gate. CHASING THE ACE was three deep the trip last start and back to 1100 could be more suitable. FAIR ONE didn’t even make it to the races for Jim Taylor but this is not a strong maiden. WILD MEMORIES next best. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – SILVER CLOUD THREE WIN Race 2 DAMASCUS STEEL really did catch the eye first-up at what was probably an unsuitable distance and could again go round at double figures and be worth a sneaky little nibble in an even type of maiden. BULL BIZARRE is still pretty raw and green for a fairly old horse but hit the line relatively well last start and could be the improver out to 1400m. Drawn awkwardly but Turner rides Geraldton better than anyone. RUPEE hit the line well last start. YOU DON’T SAY deserves to break through at some stage. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – DAMASCUS STEEL EACHWAY Race 3 FEARHILDI does best work when allowed to find the front relatively unchallenged. This race on paper looks to get those conditions and will be hard to run down if leading. STANDUP’N’DELIVER has been going well enough in similar grade to this and against similar opposition to bob up. FULLY STOKED gets out in trip for the first time since lobbing in WA. YADREAMIN’ gets it soft and has a turn of foot. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – FEARHILDI WIN Race 4 DASHING IMAGE is coming straight out of maiden grade but looks to have his fair share of ability. Sat in the box seat and won well last start and from the gate should be midfield with cover ready to pounce. SPORTING IMAGE is a recent addition to the region but two starts since arriving have shown plenty of promise. KINTAIL has been well backed at his last two starts and only got done a nose last time out. MAGIC MERIT should be ready. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – DASHING IMAGE WIN Race 5 INVINCIBLE WARRIOR probably has half a hoof on Geraldton horse of the year since arriving from the Jim Taylor yard. Has been going well at 1400 and is probably even better suited back to 1200m. BAY PUBLISHER comes across from a sticky gate to possibly sit in the breeze. MASTER SPLITER has sat deep and still bolted in his last two. This is harder but he is impressive. TRADEMARK is going well below his best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – INVINCIBLE WARRIOR WIN Race 6 CORPORATE TRADER is a nice animal and he has been drawing wide and getting back in his races before charging late. If he can hold up a position from the gate and get clear running he’ll be hard to hold. FLIRTALICIOUS probably needed the run first-up and if getting a soft lead kicks well. ROYAL PLANET is always a winning chance in races like this. CATALYST FIRE brings intrigue to the races with Tasmanian form. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – CORPORATE TRADER WIN Race 7 KARNATAKA is just one of many horses who are racing at the top of their game for Graeme & Don Hammarquist who are simply training winners for fun at the moment. Their strike rate is impeccable and this is an emerging Geraldton Cup hope. BOLLINGER BOY has done nothing wrong since arriving in Geraldton and he can stay. COOL WITNESS finds the front here and should roll them along. VAN ISLAND a bit of a query at the trip but going well. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – KARNATAKA WIN Race 8 BARAKI BEATS is the other former Jim Talyor horse who is vying for Geraldton horse of the year so far. Back to 1100m the old boy has been showing some spring in the step and Peta Edwards has been getting him out of the gates. BLACK DYNAMITE was held up the entire length of the straight last start and is more an 1100m horse. DANEHILL MATILDA is yet to hit form but capable on the right day. AUDIENCE does love the Geraldton track. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – BARAKI BEATS WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,4 2,3,4,9 2,4 2,5,6,8 Market Market
