Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 17, 2021December 17, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BIGDAYONIT brings the right form lines having finished third behind Uni Queen and subsequent winner Bell Lap. Further back in fourth was Salacia Queen a filly of Adam Durrant’s who was well supported on Thursday at Pinjarra. Once Ash Maley finds a bit of form his entire team tend to go well (Swim Through Wednesday, Never Sober Thursday). MOUNTAIN ASH joins the stables of Gordon Spowart after two moderate efforts first-up and second-up. 2 year old form was good. 3 year old form is average. COLOUR ME QUICK has a senior on and should find the front and control. TAKE ANOTHER LOOK is going well. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – BIGDAYONIT WIN RACE 2 COLOUR ME SON is a 10 start maiden but this is probably one of the thinnest races he has seen in his career to date. Like the majority of Cliff Green’s team he tends to do his best work at Geraldton and the third behind Solder and Dark Peak is looking like a great maiden form reference. Ran third to Dark Peak again last start and was charging to the line. Ready to win. ARTIE is fairly one paced. The wide draw hurts but he’ll find his race sometime this season. DEMERITS PRIDE showed ability at trials. Yet to really produce but wary that Ash Maley’s team looks like it’s about to have another good run. BLUE RADAR wasn’t a bad trial for an unraced horse. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – COLOUR ME SON WIN RACE 3 ADMIRAL HUSSON has only won 2 from 36 but looks like has come back to racing in career best form this preparation. The key to him seems to be staying at 1100m because that’s simply as far as he wants. Second to Chisano is good form, second to Three Sessions is super form. Three Sessions will be measuring up in town and that’s as strong as C2 form as possible. SO SWAY has had two starts this campaign in town in C3 company. Sure to appreciate the drop back in grade to a Country C2. THE SINGING TIGER showed fresh that Gordon Spowart will win races with him. UNDER THE RADAR should be a handy pick-up for Bruce Kay. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – ADMIRAL HUSSON WIN RACE 4 BILLY JACK won back to back races, C1 1600 and then a 58+ 1900. Last start went to a 64+ 1925 and was subject to a fairly length Stewarts Report paragraph. Worth forgiving and forgetting and focussing on the fact that he went around a $4 chance in a 64+ and now drops back into a 55+ and back to a mile. Capable of rebounding to form. LA MORNE improved sharply first-up to second-up. Lightly raced, looks progressive and didn’t get the best of luck in the home straight when looking capable of playing a part in the finish. EBONY MAGI finished second two starts ago after leading and giving cheek. Has been in and out of form for a while. Hopefully can start to show some consistency. WAR CLASS was hitting the line gradually last start. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – BILLY JACK WIN RACE 5 MEGADON is yet another returning track specialist on the program. Only won 7 from 57 in his career but his Geraldton record is 8 starts for 4 wins and 3 minors. He has been battling well down in the metro area and only two starts ago in the Westspeed Final he ran fourth behind Nowhiteflag and subsequent winners Holy Enchantment and Classic Rogue. Back to Geraldton and back to a bet. MIRACLE MAN toyed with them two starts ago when plunged. Fought on bravely behind the highly in form mare Worth A Risk at Albany last start. Jordy Rolfe has him back. MYCROFY has 62.5kg and is first-up but is a really talented horse who Gordon Spowart can get a run out of fresh. QUALITY FAIR was back to his fighting self last start. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MEGADON WIN RACE 6 SANS LE SOU looked like being a great pick up for Gordon Spowart and it didn’t take long for her to find her feet in Geraldton. Was strong last start when dominating C2 company to win by 2.5L and looks even more suited back to 1400. Drawn a gate, showing gate speed and is versatile. Hard to fault her. ARABIAN RICHES dropped back into this grade last start when finishing third behind Pagani. Should be there abouts again. DARK PEAK comes straight from a maiden into a 57+ which is normally a step too far but think this mare is better than your average maiden winner. PAGANI has been a model of consistency since coming to the region. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – SANS LE SOU WIN RACE 7 HIGHEST REGARD can be stepped out fresh for success. Winner at Northam over 1600m first-up no trial to win his maiden back in 2019 and first-up last preparation in September without a trial finished third in a 58+ behind Starorio and Megadon. Drawn awkwardly but if he’s ready to go first-up he’ll be a big chance at odds. RED EPIC has a senior rider on and while he lacks a real killer blow he will be in front for a fair way. DELAGO DEHERO comes back to Geraldton after not really showing up in the Regional Championships Final at Ascot. QUAN is going through the grades nicely for Sean Rains. Great use of the claim. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – HIGHEST REGARD EACHWAY RACE 8 FROSTY BELLE strikes a winnable race. Joined Gordon Spowart from Ray Malpass at the end of a testing preparation and has seemingly found form again. Second behind A Steamy Affair (beating rival King Cabernet home) two starts ago in a C2, then third behind Quan last start. Troy Turner knows her now and this is an even weaker race than she’s seen at her last couple. KING CABERNET gives Taj Dyson a great chance to return to the winner’s circle. Drawn a gate and has a horse in form. MYSTERY MAN simply hasn’t quite lived up to his early 3 year old form. GLITCH INTHESYSTEM a blow out chance for quaddie players. Numbers: 11 – 13 – 3 – 14 Suggested Bet – FROSTY BELLE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,8 1,2,4,6,8,10 3,11,13 Market Market
