Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on December 26, 2025December 26, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ELECTRIC BEC ran second to stablemate Iraychoux in the Brock Lewthwaite quinella maiden most recently. It was the best run that she has produced since arriving in WA and clearly ran for Natika Riordan who retains the ride. These maidens are weak and if she reproduces she’s the one to beat. EXCAVATION got himself into an awkward position last start. Wide early, then led, then crossed, then held up and then grinding it out late. Clear air is his best move. GILES is a real one paced type. Think a senior rider on will help him quite a lot. RARE HONOUR gets a soft run which helps run the trip first attempt. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ELECTRIC BEC WIN RACE 2 FLAVOURSOME probably should have gone close last start. Just got caught waiting and searching for a run at a crucial stage, and considering he was 2100 back to 1400, that’s the last thing he needed. This looks just as weak and winnable. MAGIC CARATS was really good first-up and second-up. No idea what happened third-up when beaten out of sight. Hopefully the shades bring him back. BONDI EXPRESS was beaten in a maiden handicap at Narrogin but this is on par quality and depth wise. PRETEY ROYAL has been there abouts most of her career. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – FLAVOURSOME WIN RACE 3 STARCHASER heads to the races for local trainers Brandon & Lucy Fiore and off the back of a very impressive trial win too. Last seen down the 1000m straight when second to Niccimota. Bit concerned that both placings are down the straight, but looked too good in the trial to ignore. TALK TOO MUCH looked relatively sharp in a 400m jump out and then stepped to a 950 trial at Lark Hill when winning by just over 1L. Think he can go well on debut from an ideal draw. BARNEY ROMMEL sat out the back on debut and got the line really well. Hopefully jumps this time. DANCE VERSION has shown glimpses at trials and draws to advantage on debut. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – STARCHASER WIN RACE 4 HEY PINO trialled well at Lark Hill and showed it was no fluke when winning a C3 at Belmont first-up and nearly every runner out of that event have been plunged at their next start(s) and invariably run well. He was annihilated in betting second-up in a 60+ Graduation and if he had a bit more luck in the home straight those punters may well have been rewarded. Have to follow up. RALLY THE TROOPS has returned in excellent order and may have run into a nice one last start at Ascot in Territory Man. Stablemates THREE GRAND and OUTFIELD can control the speed between themselves. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – HEY PINO WIN RACE 5 SHAZAIR is the kind of mare who can work her way through the grades this prep and this looks a nice race for her on her way towards 0MWLY and 60+ Graduation company. Like the way she goes about it and after laying inwards last start now has a bubble cheeker. FIRE THE LOT continues to knock on the door and go close. Maybe the stop, start nature of the last start event didn’t suit him that well but still thought his prior run in a C3 to Our Mate Archie was a better effort? FLINDERS LANE was set alight by Pike last start in a riding masterclass. SANDFIRE ROSE runs for Holly Nottle. Plain and simple. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SHAZAIR WIN RACE 6 CHINO LA DIVA is a huge class dropper. Only four starts ago in a 66+ finished just over 2L behind Stakes Winning Filly Playin It Sweet. She’s back in distance and hugely back in grade. 61.5kg an ask but this is so much easier than recents. ANTZ PANTZ BABY had his first racing preparations for Mitchell Pateman and now heads to Brandon Fiore. Only won a 1685m maiden and it’s nearly 1 year since a 10L beaten margin trial where something clearly wasn’t right. May need the run. JUST GIFTED leaves Peters Investments and should be a nice horse for new trainer Tim Crosby. BONNY ROCK won two on the bounce and then was completely outclassed in the Epona Classic. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHINO LA DIVA WIN RACE 7 LEMMOR is a short courser. She broke her maiden impressively in a C3 1000 and stays down in the weights heading into a 0MWLY. Has obviously been a work in progress and a test of patience but it’s starting to pay off. ART SESSION won a barrier trial by 7L leading into his return but hasn’t exactly set the world on fire at the races just yet. JUSTABITTAPRESS hasn’t started since July 2024. Great to have him back at the races and is more than capable at this level if right. ON THE FULL has run consistently good races since joining Aaron Pateman. Suited to this grade. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – LEMMOR WIN RACE 8 WILUNA LASS led and won a 3 year old 0MWLY 1000 on Cup Day at Ascot and then tested the waters at Saturday level last time out. Back to a C1 is the right move from trainer Metro Brown. SOUND OF SPEED has now burnt punters at all three starts. Jumped between $2.05 & $2.30 in each occasion and realistically had every chance on each occasion. SO IMMACULATE was wayward lasts start. Senior helps. RIPPER FAROOQ heads to Team Gangemi and best seems to be fresh for him. PINGERS best form may be on wet tracks but she’s a fresh winner produced without a trial. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – WILUNA LASS WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,4,5,6,7 1,2,3 3,4,5,7,9 3,7 Market Market
