With an extra 130m and a set of winkers he can sit back and gather these up without surprising at his second start. Only need to really watch one replay to get a good sense of this maiden to start the card as they all pretty much raced against each other a fortnight ago. CITY MISTRESS was huge in the same race after covering a stack of additional ground. GOOD SONG was a decent enough run to suggest he could also turn the tables on Looks if he can get a half decent run from the draw. LOOKS looked the winner last start at 1100m but was paddling last 50. Not convinced yet. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – AUTHORATIVE WIN RACE 2 WARRALEA DIAMOND was unable to reel in stablemate and newcomer to the region Yes Of Course last start when stepping from 1240m to 1500m. He should take great benefit from that and from the draw he looks to get a gun run tucked away behind the speed. This isn’t a deep maiden at all and he looks the hardest to beat. ARCADIA JEWEL brings alternate form and as we saw a fortnight ago through Yes Of Course the metro/provincial maiden form is often lengths superior to the country horses. She gets a far better run from a more favourable alley. DEADLY AND FAST continues to hit the line. COMMANCHE CHANT an improver. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – WARRALEA DIAMOND WIN RACE 3 DIVINE MERCY chased hard at 1900m behind Powerful Force. He was jumping up dramatically in distance off a fresh win over 1300m at Mt Barker. Splits the difference here and drops back to a mile and he should get the run he needs over the top of a moderate tempo. Can come out positive and take cover on the stablemate Yes of Course. STAR IN TIME gets a 2.5kg weight swing on him from that event where she travelled into it strongly before fading late. Good effort sustaining a run from a long way out. DOUBLE THUMBS UP drops back into a C2 and hit the line well behind Rock Of Kaha in a strong form race. YES OF COURSE seemed to appreciate being allowed to stride in front. Imagine they look to rinse and repeat. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DIVINE MERCY WIN RACE 4 HOT CHATTER was some sort of run in replay last start. This is a deep race with plenty of speed (Mine Host, Stormy Tawny, Avoidance, Ribbing) so going to roll the dice with Hot Chatter who absolutely flew home when the race was all over behind Penned last start. Hoping to see her park about fifth in running and if she reproduces her turn of acceleration she could be hard to hold out. STORMY TAWNY comes through a 3 year old 0MWLY that has already produced a winner. This is excellent placement by Todd Harvey to bring her down for a C2 in Albany. Hard to get past. MINE HOST is drawn inside of her and wonder whether they’ll look to hold her out and lead as they did at Barker when romping in. GETYOURMONEYANDRUN endured a tough passage first-up. Big forgive. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – HOT CHATTER EACHWAY RACE 5 ATHLONE CASTLE is the kind of horse you need eachway about and who needs an ounce of luck in the home straight. From barrier 1 he’s likely three back the fence so he will need a good steer from Kristy Bennett but if the gaps appear for him on straightening he looks to have found a winnable race. STAR SOPRANO ran them ragged last start and he’s arguably even better suited over 1100m. Hard to run down. OXBRIDGE has put in two dominant performance at Mt Barker recently. Is he quite the same horse at Albany? MORGS FREEMAN has been there abouts all preparation in 70+ grade. He now drops back into a 58+ for the first time in ages. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ATHLONE CASTLE EACHWAY RACE 6 COME RIGHT BACK has 61kg to carry over 3100m but he is classes above his rivals on paper. He dropped out of Listed Company for the first time in nearly 12 months when contesting last weekend’s Geraldton Cup and got the job done in a fighting victory. He now drops in grade again back into a 66+ and takes on a field with an average metro rating of m60. He’s always given every indication he would stay all day and Gaerth can sit back and let the race unfold until the sprint goes on at the 600. MORTON’S FORK has at least won out to 2400m. He gets massive weight swings on local rivals with 52.5kg on his back. ARTIE’S COMET can turn it into a sit and sprint to suit himself. Big query whether he’ll see out the trip. CHUCK A LUCK mixes his form but he’s a one paced stayer who will keep grinding. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – COME RIGHT BACK WIN RACE 7 LITTLE PUNGA was beaten half a length by Rock Of Kaha four starts ago and meets him 3.5kg better at the weights. Last start he missed the kick hopelessly and settled in an unfamiliar position. Thought he did a super job to finish within 5L of Sneaky Fox and stepping cleanly he could lead this. Worth an eachway nibble. SNEAKY FOX is a ripper. He’s been up for an eternity and continues to race incredibly well. After winning a 58+ with 62kg he won a 70+ with 57.5kg and then went to town when far from disgraced behind Knot Secret in a 66+ in town. 1500m is probably as far as he wants and he’s drawn sticky but he’s hard to look past. ROCK OF KAHA is flying and on recent wins measures up in this grade. ELITE FIGHTER is better than last start. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – LITTLE PUNGA EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4,5,8,9 1,2,3,4,5,8,9 1,5 1,4,5,8 Market Market
